6 week miscarriage

Hi all, I was just looking for a little bit of insight/opinions.

For a little bit of background- I had a blighted ovum in February last year, dealt with through the EPU and took the pills to have a miscarriage at home. Tried for about a year to conceive again, I'm now 6 weeks according to my fertility app.

Yesterday, 6 weeks exactly, I started having light period and discovered a brown mucus like blood. This has devolved over night to passing a few clots, none crazy in size, similar to what I would pass normally, but not a whole lot of free flowing blood, still just like red mucus. I have really no cramps, the odd twinge, but nothing crazy at all.
I know from my last miscarriage, I have not passed any tissue/sack yet. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow- I am pretty at peace with the fact I'm miscarrying and had a feeling it was going to happen all along (I even kept saying to myself I wouldn't book my midwife appointment until 1 day after I hit 6 weeks- call it women's intuition) but just thought I might find it a bit comforting to hear others stories, good or bad.

Thank you xx

Hi OP,

Didn’t want to read and run, although my experience isn’t a positive one to share. I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks near the start of the year and it was exactly as you describe. However nobody can really tell you what is happening to you right now- I posted and got lots of responses where people had experienced bleeding like mine (and yours) and it turned out to be nothing and continued with successful pregnancies. I paid for a private scan rather than waiting for one through my EPU, and it confirmed miscarriage. It was straightforward and uncomplicated, which I’m grateful for. I then conceived again a week or two later and am currently nearly 9 weeks into a new pregnancy.

Have you contacted your local early pregnancy unit? They will be able to advise you further and give you some answers. Best of luck xxx

Hi OP

I had a blighted ovum ending with surgery in November when we found out as hcg kept rising. It was heartbreaking so I know the pain. I'm so sorry
Congratulations on your current pregnancy! I'm 13wk today. Had a private at 6wk to help my worries it wasn't happening again. Everything was perfect
After seeing the heartbeat, I started to relax (I'd been a nervous wreck for four weeks before that) but then week 6 and 7, I had brownish discharge every other wipe. Nothing red. I started to really panic
We had our dating scan two weeks ago and the baby is great despite my doubts. The MW did reassure me of this prior but I still didn't think it was 'normal' as I was told

I hope everything is going as it should. Try to relax, and call EPU for advice if you are really concerned and they can help

Sending hope and best wishes xx

Hi op,
I hope you are ok.
I had 3 early losses. My advice would be to make sure the doctor registers it. Where I am you were sent to the pregnancy loss clinic after 3 and that was fantastic as the testing showed up some progesterone issues.
I went on then to have two successful pregnancies after.
Not to give you false hope but I had a large fresh blood bleed on one of my pregnancies that continued.
I know you say you are at peace but just mind yourself, sometimes a 2nd loss can hit harder than you realize
