so im 9 weeks today, and I've just started having cramps again. in my lower abdomen, like just under my belly button and around my pubic bone. sometimes it eases off but then will hurt again when I move but sometimes it's there for a long time. it's almost like period pain. im scared and panicking that I'm miscarrying, ive not been bleeding but according to Google you don't always bleed with a miscarriage so I'm absolutely terrified now 😒😕😟

It sounds completely normal. Especially if you're not bleeding. Call EPU if you're worried.

You don't always bleed with a miscarriage but that is a missed miscarriage and you don't get the pains ect as your body still thinks you're pregnant. Hence why people don't tend to find out until a scan

gets worse when I eat, im not sure. might see how I go and ring my midwife tomorrow if needed. xxx

@vixey I’m 8weeks and get this. Although I’m sure mine is bowel related. Could your be? I get the worse cramps then they ease after I’ve been to the loo x

vixey · 06/04/2021 17:01

@soph30
I'm not sure, it could be constipation, however I've had constipation before and it's never felt like this. 🤔 my midwife said it could be constipation too, im just not so sure. xxx

@vixey you should always get yourself checked out if you're worried but I'd say cramps are pretty common. I get them ( I'm 8+3 ). Had some today in fact wasn't sure if it was bowl related or not. I get bad round ligament pain if I do a sudden movement too, which stops me in my tracks!

vixey · 06/04/2021 17:09

I've asked to be checked and the epu said its probably the usual but if it gets excruciating then get back in touch.
its sharp pains though, and im scared, but feel completely alone. xxx

@vixey are the sharp pains if you move? E.g. get up from sitting position or twist your mid section doing something?

This is my second pregnancy and I'm trying to be more relaxed this time round regarding cramp and pulling sensations etc but I really remember in my first pregnancy it was very scary as noone warned me how much weird crampy, period type pains you could feel in the first couple of months!

Definitely get back in touch if you feel the pain is too much. There's nothing wrong with being cautious xx

Honey1989 · 06/04/2021 17:20

Hi @vixey I’m coming up to 8 weeks and have this today =( just can’t help but worry as feels so unnatural. Mine feel pinchy and they come and go but have been all day. I’m just going to ride it out as makes me anxious trying to get in contact with people for answers when I know no one can do anything at this stage. Please keep this updated if you do go on to get scanned xx

vixey · 06/04/2021 17:32

@dovegreylove and @honey1989
its like a pulling pain when I move, my husband said I did say 'ouch' yesterday when I turned the living room light off (coz I stretched over the sofa) so maybe I've pulled something.
my midwife just said call 111 and get referred to epu but they won't do much at this time of evening, sonographers only work until 5pm. so just trying to cope until morning really. xxx

I know it won't be helping but I cant stop panicking. literally nobody will do anything if I seek reassurance, and I have never felt so alone and lost. this shouldn't be allowed to happen xxx

DoveGreylove · 06/04/2021 21:48

@vixey if you get the sharp pain when you move it's probably round ligament pain. It can stop you in your tracks. I've had to bend over and catch my breath when it's happened. It's like a seriously painful stitch.

Hope you're feeling a bit better now? Has the pain subsided?

Try not to panic.Flowers

@dovegreylove
Well my husband thinks it's constipation (who knows who made him a genius) but he's filling me with fybogel (awful stuff) but I'm not convinced. I've calmed down a little bit. I spoke to my friend who has lots of kids and she reassured me alot.
its not exactly how I expected pregnancy to be though. xxx

Unfortunately pregnancy is full of pains and all kinds of things that make you panic! The whole way through that people don't tend to talk about in general !

Hopefully you feel a bit better soon.
I would agree it could be constipation or trapped wind. Very common and I underestimated how painful it could be!
Your whole digestive system slows down when pregnant

DoveGreylove · 07/04/2021 08:24

Definitely first few months are so hard with bloating and trapped wind and I sadly suffered with constipation throughout my entire first pregnancy.

There are so many side effects people don't talk about! Pains, constipation, trapped wind, heartburn, piles, recurring thrush, it's so glamorous.

vixey · 07/04/2021 11:06

@dovegreylove & @snoopertrooper12345
yeah, no one speaks about how rubbish this first bit is, and how you'll feel aches and pains all the time. no one mentions it, so it's terrifying the when it starts happening, especially when most descriptions of miscarriage is period pain style cramps and bleeding, so every time I start with pains I expect to start bleeding because that's just what's expected. xxx

Hi @vixey, how did you get on with the pain? I'm having this at the moment feels a bit like ovulation pain but sharper when I move etc, I'm 9+6 and already had 2 scans due to some bleeding.

vixey · 08/08/2021 11:31

hi @mon2468
my cramps carried on until I was about 15 weeks, then I had about 6 weeks without any then started getting sharp stitch like cramps. all the way through I've been told this is normal and even at 9 weeks I was told the cramps are normal.
I have now got a liver problem called chloestesis, which can cause cramps on the right side of abdomen and my drs are unsure if they are related because cramps all over or on either side are normal too but I wouldn't think you have that to worry about so early on.
they always told me that if paracetamol helps then it's probably nothing to worry about, if you have paracetamol and it doesn't help them speak to your dr or midwife.
I hope that's helped.
vixen.
