I am 36 weeks & have had all types of horrible pains this pregnancy & I constantly now atm have a swollen lady area & it goes right round to my bum! I've been to the hospital a couple of times as I've been worried & wasn't able to get hold of MW. But usually contact her first. If you're worried I'd give your MW a text & if you can't get hold of her no harm calling labour ward to see what they say.

You sound like you're describing exactly how my PGP started.
The pain felt like a constant pulling/cramp right under my bump and was worse when standing up.
It was so painful.
Now 40 weeks and struggle to walk!

Lissie1986 · 05/04/2021 17:40

@Mummaofboys93 I feel for you, the hip pain stiff back and legs I can deal with vit this pain is something else, I forgot to mention I've called day assessment unit and spoke to a midwife told her and she says it sounds like pubic symphysis but I just feel like how would you know if you've not checked me over... I was told to take paracetamol and relax and let my midwife know on the next appointment and she can book me for physio ... I'm so anxious with this pregnancy due to my past with missed miscarriage and ectopic I'm.hoping my baby is a big baby right now and the scan this week confirms it and induces me I'm driving myself crazy lol

@SnooperTrooper12345 I wouldn't say this was a cramp more of a sharpe pain you know the kinda pain when baby head moves on ya cervix area? It's that kinda pain x

Yeah. It's hard to explain the pain.
It does sound like what I had with PGP though. Although mine started at around 17 weeks.

Speak to your midwife although unfortunately being this far, physio probably won't be worth it as it take time to refer to them

@SnooperTrooper12345
exactly my thoughts, what's the point in asking for referral this late in pregnancy, it's such a vile feeling isn't it it's like your not sure if its pressure or pain I've took 2 paracetamol an hour ago now and hopefully its kicked in I try to refrain from taking paracetamol but if its needed and helps il try anything.. maybe itis the start of pgp sje did say it sounds like that where baby is bigger now and decending more into pelvis .. such a horrible feeling has your got any better? Or worse

Mines got a lot worse.
The sharp pain only lasts a few days, and if I do things to make it worse like walking a lot ect, the next day or a few hours later the sharp pain will be back.
But now I've got a constant pain when I walk at all and struggle to get up stairs ect.
Hopefully be over soon! Due date today!

A bath is a good thing that helps. Or if you've got a hot water bottle or something!

@SnooperTrooper12345 I tried a bath when it first started earlier and it just got worse and worse throughout the day.. I've just stood up and the pains gone the paracetamol must have kicked in... ih god did u say you was 40 weeks? I hope baby comes soon habe they not said bout inducing you? .. hopefully will all be over soon for you I cant imagine the pain if labour aswell as the sharpe or heavy pgp shit pain... from earlier on in the pregnancy if I walked 5 mins up the road I'd get pains in my sides it got abit better around 22weeks then around 28 weeks I could feel left side hip pain lower back stiff legs stiff everything g I'm wonderj g if it was the hard form chair I say in yesterday that nah have caused this... but even now if I walk up the shop I get pains down the sides and across my belly like a cramp it's not good I've hardly done anything for 8months due to corona and the pains from not being able to walk far it's been hell

Hopefully being induced tomorrow as my last baby was 11lbs!😂

Sitting on hard chairs/surfaces is one thing that makes mine worse so id definitely agree it's PGP!

Yeah the pains when walking sound like Braxton Hicks. I always get them when I walk. Have to walk super slow or stop for a minute until they go and then walk again slowly!

Lissie1986 · 05/04/2021 18:16

I had growth scans from 28 weeks on NHS.
They literally measure their thigh bone, head and stomach and combine it to get an estimated weight.
That's it. As soon as you've got the measurements, they plot it on the graph and you're out.
Literally takes 10 minutes max.

Not that they're ever accurate 😂 they estimated my daughter at 7lb 2 at my 40 week growth scan. She was born 6 days later at the 11lbs 😂
My son was the opposite, estimated a big baby at 10lb. That was at 41 weeks, he was born a week later at 7lb 1

Lissie1986 · 05/04/2021 20:22

@SnooperTrooper12345 you are joking lol so the one that needed to come out earlier didnt how did they get her out did u need help? They didn't see 10lb as big 😂
He was, at 41 weeks, 78th percentile so was still within.

I didn't but I did have a 3rd degree, almost 4th degree tear!
Didn't help that she flew out 😂 think the weight of her made her just fall out haha 😂
I was induced with her because my waters were leaking

Lissie1986 · 06/04/2021 00:20

Jesus how did they not see her as big ha that is crazy what the hell lol... so no hope for me if shes big onsl what the hells the point in giving scans if they will ignore the sizes anyways lol
