Hi all wondering if anyone can help me out here....I got a positive test on Monday and had been spotting until Friday. Friday Saturday and Sunday I have bled more and on Sunday I passed these two clots....I rang the assessment unit but they said cos I aren't filling a maternity pad in half hour to and hour all they can do is book me in for a scan in two weeks....has anyone experienced anything like this before.

Unfortunately it looks like an early miscarriage ❤️

Hello, so sorry you're going through this worrying time. Have you thought about booking a private scan see if they can get you in sooner?

I'd ring the maternity unit back and stress the size of the clots and that you need to be seen as you are still bleeding.

Thinking of you Thanks

Yeah that's what I feared...won't find out until the 19th....would much rather know now but hospital said there is nothing they can do until then cos nothing would show up on a scan.

Unfortunately it doesn't look good.
All you can do is wait and see how things go atm. Take a home test after a week if bleeding continues or stops. If test comes back negative then it's most likely a chemical pregnancy. If you continue to get positives then you should go to the scan that's been booked to see what's going on. Good luck

They asked about the size of the clots when I rang and didn't seem concerned. The bleeding seems to have slowed down a lot today it's just the waiting that is getting me down.

They're never very concerned unless as you said before, you're filling a pad in an hour as unfortunately there isn't much they can do.

It's good they've offered you a scan though.

I just got told to take paracetamol if I need it and take a test in 2 weeks

Yep pretty much, it's harsh but they'll only be worried in an emergency situation - they won't be concerned about you having an early miscarriage (I've been there so I know this sounds shocking but it isn't shocking to the HCPs - they deal with this situation literally every day)

I'd take a test and keep taking tests every few days - if they fade or go negative then you'll at least know you've lost this pregnancy Thanks

Yup. Exactly. Mine were both at 10 weeks but still as it wasn't an emergency and nothing they can do. So fully understandable.
It's sad but unfortunately it's such a common thing, they'd be so busy if they saw to everyone
