I'm 15weeks today and don't feel pregnant and I don't have any sign of a bump. Is this normal?

I'm a size 16 and height around 5ft7 so I'm thinking is my size making me not look pregnant yet?

I'm a worrier anyway, everything was fine at my dating scan but now I'm just left feeling am I still pregnant? So strange!

I was exactly the same. I didn't start showing until around 19 weeks and even then it wasn't clearly a baby bump. I did start feeling movements at that time which helped. Until then, I hadn't had any symptoms and I didn't feel pregnant at all. I think there's no real normal experience in pregnancy, everyone is different. Try to not worry too much and enjoy as much as you can! Smile

penguin7 · 05/04/2021 09:02

@afinethingindeed thank you for the reply, I will try and relax and not overthink too much.

Hi I'm 14 weeks and only look bloated but I do see my belly at the top move in and out randomly not sure what it is though.
LunaDreams · 05/04/2021 09:35

@penguin7 I feel exactly the same! Am just under 15 weeks with no sign of a bump and only symptom is constipation! Everything looked fine at my 12 week scan but I keep thinking something is wrong as I don't seem to be getting any bigger. Just look a bit chubby!

I have read a bit around it online as it does look like it can be usual for bump to appear more towards weeks 18/20. I'm guessing you can do a lot of growing in 3 weeks!

I do know exactly how you feel. The anxiety is always lingering

Thank you for your replies!
It is such an anxious time!

@LunaDreams I'm 15wks today, we must be due similar times? Is this your first?
I've got my 16wk check next week so will chat to the midwife about my worries.

Yeah it's my first too I'm worried because I don't feel movement but my last scan they said everything was ok. I do see my belly at the top move a bit in and out randomly though.

I'm towards the end of September xx

penguin7 · 05/04/2021 10:04

@maria1995xxx
My due date is 27th Sept, it's our first too.
25 weeks to go!x

It's probably your height. I'm 16 weeks and only 5ft 1 and have had a bump for a few weeks (first baby). I have less body space to accommodate a growing uterus. Don't worrry, everything will be ok I am sure

I that's the same as mine 😊I feel so lonely during this pregnancy can't wait for the lockdown to end so I can joking some pregnancy classes

Chelyanne · 05/04/2021 11:49

I was size 16 pre-pregnancy and am 5ft 8.
I just felt a bit porky around that gestation but bump is very visible now at 20+6, I still think I look more like I've eaten too many pies until I catch a glimpse from the side in a mirror or window lol. At the I know I'm pregnant but don't really feel it, it's a nice stage but can be worrying.

penguin7 · 05/04/2021 12:06

Aww thank you everyone for your replies! I do just feel a bit chubby! 😩

@maria1995xxx I know what you mean, I feel a bit lonely, I cannot believe I've reached 15wks though, this seemed so far off when I first did my pregnancy test!
Got my 20wk scan booked for 14th May so hoping all will be ok then but will talk to my midwife next week about my worrying!x

LunaDreams · 05/04/2021 12:09

@penguin7 I'm due 30th Sept so very close to you! Yep it's my first which is probably why I'm so anxious as have nothing to compare it to! I've also got my 16 week midwife appointment next week so will talk to mine then too.

Good to know I'm not the only one who feels like this!

Worriesome · 05/04/2021 12:44

@penguin7 - is this your first? With first pregnancy it can take longer for a bump to show x

LittleTiger007 · 05/04/2021 13:01

I’m size 18 and 5ft 9. At 33 weeks I can still hide my bump under loose clothing! Not that I want to. I think taller women just have more space in our torso and it can take longer to show. Don’t worry that seems normal from what I’ve read. Hopefully you will soon feel movements which will give you lots of reassurance that all is ok.

penguin7 · 05/04/2021 13:03

@LunaDreams @maria1995xxx we should keep up to date with each other on here to share our worries/anxiety.

@Worriesome yes this is my first, I have read that about if it's your first it will take longer for bump to appear. I just need to stop overthinking and take each day as it comes.

@LittleTiger007 thank you for the reassurance. Hopefully once I start feeling movement that will help me to relax a little.

Worriesome · 05/04/2021 13:05

@penguin7 I was worrying with my first and would wake up everyday checking my bump and it only really showed properly by 20 weeks from what I remember x

SnooperTrooper12345 · 05/04/2021 13:11

I was a size 16/18 with my first pregnancy and I didn't look pregnant/have a bump until around 32 weeks!
I carry all my weight on my stomach so it hid it.

I didn't 'feel' pregnant until I started feeling constant kicks

SnooperTrooper12345 · 05/04/2021 13:12

I'm also 5ft 7

brushlaptop · 05/04/2021 13:28

That's good that you're not showing yet!! Imm12 weeks and no joke I had a bump from 10 weeks. It's my second though. For my first I would say I started showing at 16 weeks. I'm 5ft 8 size 6/8 56kgs

LunaDreams · 05/04/2021 18:13

@penguin7 yes we should! Let us know how you get on with midwife this week. I hope you find it helpful x

Yeah I will post updates here too 🙂in my first trimester I had really bad anxiety I kept on visualising something drastic happening but my last scan made me relax a little hopefully the 20 week one soon 🙏🏽

georgarina · 06/04/2021 07:07

Very normal! I'm 5'1, size 6-8 and was only really showing in this pregnancy from around 20 weeks.

Summersun001 · 25/05/2021 09:55

Hi @penguin7. I hope you’re well!! I’m in a very similar situation at the moment, nearly 16 weeks. I was just wondering when you did start to show? Xx

penguin7 · 25/05/2021 17:47

@Summersun001
Hi...I'm ok thank you, I'm 22wks now and I'd say these past couple of week people have commented more about me having a bump. I still just feel a bit frumpy but with certain clothes I can see a bump.
