Just wondering if it's okay to have sex at 7 weeks, I read you can but still a bit cautious.

7 weeks pregnant? Yes of course you can.

Pinchawinch · 04/04/2021 10:14

Yes

LadyBillyBon · 04/04/2021 10:32

Yes.

I don't get people that say "I've read you can" and then come here to ask instead 🤦🏻‍♀️

You can have sex throughout your whole pregnancy as long as you're told not to for certain reasons by your midwife or if your waters go.

I thought this was a place you could ask questions that you are concerned about without a comment being made like that! Yes I read it but not everything you read on the internet is correct so I wanted to check on here

Ha ok read that last sentence again!

But I get it - sex is fine unless your doc says no.

I didn’t have it until 8 weeks but only because I’d had 3 miscarriages previously so I wanted to get to a more ‘safe zone’, we had the reassurance scan at 8 weeks and then severe nausea threw me off intimacy of any kind. Only just started having the courage in the last two weeks to kiss my partner!

LadyBillyBon · 04/04/2021 17:59

But you are literally on the Internet asking it? 😂

Literally the NHS website itself says it's fine but you'd rather believe mumsnetters over the NHS website. Okay then.

speakout · 04/04/2021 18:03

I thought you meant after birth.
I didn't know I was pregnant the firs time until I was 17 weeks.
Plenty sex in that time.

SleepingStandingUp · 04/04/2021 18:05

Unless you're high risk, sex is fine. Your baby is tiny and buried deep inside you. His penis isn't going to go anywhere near it, it isn't going to shook free with all the jiggling. I'm olden times times people wouldn't have even known really until they'd missed a second period so 8ish weeks

Chelyanne · 04/04/2021 18:19

You can have sex at any stage of pregnancy unless doctors advise against it.
The cervix can be more sensitive and get a bit of spotting which can be terrifying, I had that at 14wk and it put me off it.

Troyhelena · 04/04/2021 22:26

If they recommend sex to induce labour at 40 weeks, what makes you think at 7 weeks you’d have any issues? 😂😂

Worriesome · 04/04/2021 23:02

A few catty comments on here, OP take no notice. I wonder if these people are just as unhelpful in real life x

I think it's the OP's need to second guess the NHS advice that is confusing.

Yes you can have sex throughout pregnancy if you want to and there's not a medical reason not to.
