Stop start/ latent labour with second?

Posting here for more traffic...

Anyone have a longer than expected latent labour with second (or more?) baby? Been irregularly contracting since 1am... last exam at 7am I was totally effaced and they could stretch cervix to 6cm but I wasn't dilated.

Contractions currently all less than 10 mins between, but inconsistent in intensity, length and time between.

Had a massive bloody show.

Guess I'm just wondering if anyone else had similar??

Dd was 3 and a half days...

Hospital at least 45 mins away with no traffic... don't want to give birth on the side of the road!

I had on off contractions for a couple of weeks with our 2nd before I had my final consultant app at 39+6. I thought it was just bracton hicks but they did an internal exam and found I was 1cm dilated. He didn't arrive until 40+5 after they finally agreed to break my waters as I'd been stuck at 5cm for over 24hrs after examination on a ward. Born 2hr 19mins after that with 15mins pushing the huge boy out (4.88kg). They should have intervened sooner though as he had meconium in his waters.

I'm 40+2. Expecting this to last about 24 hours (how long my mum laboured with her second). It just sucks!!

I had second baby with contractions just like this for just over 3 days, trust me, when you know you’ll know!

I know it’s easier said than done but try and relax, take it easy, don’t stress your body, I promise you it’ll happen soon.

I brought labour on with my 2nd with nipple stimulation because I was sick of the irregular contractions, I spent about 1.5hrs doing nipple stimulation on the birthing ball and read up loads of tips on spinning babies. He was out 14.5 hours later. Good luck me love!

I'm on my first but also been intermittently contracting since 1am weirdly! They were really close together for about 2 hours this morning but have since tailed off and now having them every 30/60 mins or so, sometimes closer for a few. I'm going to express as much colostrum as possible and bounce on the ball to try and get it all going, fingers crossed yours starts making their way out soon 🤞😀

Baby stopped moving so we went in about 7pm yesterday. Showed some signs of distress on ctg so waters broken at 9pm when I was 4 cm and he was put an hour later!

TENS machine and gas and air. Glad I didn't have epidural as it didn't work on one side last time but I still couldn't feel to push.

But man it hurt!!! I'm ok that this is our last baby!!!

Now just waiting for baby doctor to check him over (meconium in waters) and then we can head home!!!

Congratulations OP! I read your first post and thought ‘once her waters break it will happen fast’ and I was right 😂
