Hi
I know this may seem a little trivial but can you go to a beauty salon and get your nails done when pregnant?
I'm currently 14weeks and I know that beauty places are not open yet but when they do can I go and get gel/shellac on nails?
I do have a voucher to use that someone got me at Christmas so don't want that to go to waste but I think a good pamper is something we all need once in a while. ☺️

Had shellac done for my wedding 16 weeks pregnant.
Think it's ok occasionally.
I wore a mask over there the entire time! So did the staff

I’ve seen loads of pregnant people come in to get their nails done, I think it should be fine. If you’re worried maybe do some research online?
If you decide to get a pedicure though, don’t use the massage on the chairs, I heard it’s not good for the baby.

Gel nails are fine, some treatments aren't advised like lash tints as you can develop allergies in pregnancy, or massages that can cause risk if not done properly. Be prepared gels will grow out quicker than pre-pregnancy though, your nails start to grow faster when you're pregnant!

Forgot to add I wouldn't do pedicure or full manicure though. Just to be on the safe side regarding infections or fungus...
But i am a bit ocd.

This is why I haven’t even bothered to do my nails since my pregnancy and was also the same with my first 😂 I hate when they grow out fast and have to redo them again so often!

It's totally fine. I had mine done several times last pregnancy. Towards the end I didn't like the smell and asked to sit near an open door but there's no risk. Your hospital won't want you to have any coloured varnish on at the time of labour though in case you have a c-section so you should avoid getting them done late in your last trimester.

Yes fine, I will definitely need my feet and toes done in my last month before baby arrives as I wouldn't be able to do it myself!!!
