BLEEDING 4 Weeks

Hi,

Looking for some reassurance that things may still be ok. I got my BFP on Monday (day AF was due) and yesterday I started to notice red blood when I wiped. As the day went on it got worse but not as much as a period would be. I feel slightly crampy but nothing that's needed me to take painkillers.

Has anyone bled so early on and everything been ok? I have had two miscarriages before and 2 healthy pregnancies.

Red blood is not a good thing in pregnancy.
Not a great deal you can do atm unfortunately. Keep an eye on the flow and retest in a few days, if bleeding continues and you get a negative test then it's most likely you are experiencing a chemical pregnancy. If it stops quite quickly and you get a positive test contact the GP and ask for a referral to epau. They don't tend to scan before you get to 6wk but may offer blood tests.

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and at 5 weeks I bled. It was quite heavy for a day and bright to dark red. But it wasn't quite as strong as a period. Assumed I'd misscarried but a midwife tried to reassure me it's quite common in early pregnancy to have a heavy implantation bleed. So it turns out i didn't misscarry. So yeah I'd be concerned if you were losing blood clots but try not to worry too much if it's a light bleed. That's what I was told. I was also told to take a test a week after the bleed to check if it was positive and thankfully it was!

I had a bright red bleed last Saturday at 5+6 it was heavy enough to feel it while sitting watching the. I had a scan the next day and everything looked ok they couldn't see a reason for the bleed. They advised that while bleeding in pregnancy needs to be investigated it does happy so try to relax as much as possible. Do you have a local early pregnancy unit you can call? X

I had early red bleeding in my first pregnancy which very sadly led to the discovery it was ectopic. I would echo that it is a good idea to get checked out to be safe. I very much hope it all works well for you and you can get some reassurance.

I bled from from week 5 until week 26. I had a scan at week 5 but it was too early to detect a heartbeat. So had another scan a week later. The baby was fine, it was so worrying though.

I called EPU yesterday and she said just to test again in a week! Didn't seem interested at all

Maybe try calling the GP on Monday as that's not fair to leave you with this worry. I know GPs can refer to EPU for scan or they can locally to me anyway x

Forgot to mention they asked me in for a scan at 7 weeks to check up on things, I was able to book it once my test came back as positive after my bleed. Might be worth asking your midwife if that's possible? They said they couldn't scan earlier than 7 weeks though so we had a nerve wracking wait. Hope it turns out okay for you!

Chemical pregnancy accounts for 1 in 4 periods of ttc women.
Testing too early sadly brings this to our attention..
Ttc is a minefield...

I know this has been a while but i'm on the same path here, bleeding on and off with hcg increasing and terrified of an ectopic. Did you end up having a scan?

I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant was bleeding heavy .....I was worried and scared I had 9 miscarriages before this pregnancy but all turned out well I'm 6 weeks pregnant today so let there be hope for other woman who have the same situation as me
