Bloody show, how long until labour?

Hi all

I had a stretch a few sweep yesterday afternoon, she said I was a little over 1cm dilated and cervix was very soft and thin so she was able to do a really good sweep round. Had quite painful cramps for a few hours straight after and then intermittent over night as well as back ache. Woke up this morning to a lot of pale pink mucus discharge that's been coming for a few hours so guessing this is my bloody show. Does this all mean labour is imminent? I'm 41 weeks today so hoping so!

I had the same however I didn't actually go into labour for a week even after my bloody show!

Our 2nd came 6 days after I was 1cm dilated at an internal exam.

Thanks both! I went for a brisk walk and bounced on my ball and going to have a bath, hopefully get things moving. Cramps seemed to have eased off which I'm not sure is a good or a bad sign, but suppose she'll just come when she wants, just hate waiting around and don't really want to be induced next week!

This sounds like it may have been just irritation from the sweep. My bloody show with DC2 was red blood and some mucus. Contractions started about 10 hours later (it happened at night) and I was in full blown labour by 24 hours later.

My bloody show was very bloody, but I was in labour that evening. My fingers are crossed for you to have a beautiful Easter baby!! X

Thank you both, it was quite dark red this morning the first few times I went for a wee, but definitely within mucus rather than fresh blood, got lighter as the morning went on. I also had some pink discharge straight after the sweep then nothing for 12 hours until the blood/mucus this morning.
It's now completely stopped and haven't had any cramps so hoping she decides to rock up this weekend haha!

With my first baby I had a sweep, then show later that day/the next day. Baby was born 5 days later.

Second baby I had a sweep and show immediately afterwards but I was already in early labour. Baby was born that night.

Both times the show was pale pink and not particularly bloody.

Can’t remember having a show with 3rd baby!
