Is it safe to take high doses of Vitamin C such as Berocca

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and I've got the beginnings of a cold coming on. Is it safe to take high doses of Vitamin C, such as Berocca or Redoxon?

I'm not a doctor so please don't haold me to this but i was told that your body gets rid of extra vitamin c so you may get the runs but that's all unless you go super crazy on it when like all vitamins i guess it becomes a bit toxic.

Short-term, reasonably high doses are safe. Long term or excessively high doses are not. Thwe main risks IIRC of high doses are getting kidney stones and damaging your own tooth enamel.

Are there other things in Berrocca eg high doses of Vit A that are not supposed to be taken during pregnancy?
I avoided it when pregnant but didn't look into it.
