Hi

I hope someone may have some help to offer. My partner has a 12 weeks scan in 3 weeks time and she suffers from anxiety and stress when feeling apprehensive, it is our first baby so naturally feeling quite tense. It gets quite bad at times. Will I be able to go with in with her to the scans and as a support person not just a partner?

Thanks

Only the hospital will be able to explain the current rules.

On the letter with her appointment on it should I state the current guidelines. Each trust is different but mine allows 1 person to come to the scan with you. If not just ring the hospital and ask.

You should be allowed in so long as it's just you (I recently had mine but we had our son with us so husband had to stay in the waiting room with him). Congratulations to you both! 💐

Every hospital is different so nobody on here can tell you. You'll have to contact your hospital

Dependent on the hospital rules in place. In my scan my partner had to wait outside until they called me in for the scan and then he was able to come in but had to go straight back out again and wait while I had the bloods done.

Every hospital is applying rules differently. In our hospital, husband was given a pager and was buzzed when I was in the room ready to be scanned.

Thank you for the replies and the congrats received. Appreciated.

The scan letter usually states if you can take someone with you.
Our trust welcomes 1 person at all scans. The maternity department us quite big and separate from the rest of the hospital. They have little 2 person pods for you to wait in the sonography department and a screen between the bed and the guests chair. Bloods you have to go in alone as there are 2 members of staff in the room so it's not big enough for partner too.
