Previous ectopic and now pregnant with low progesterone

Hey everyone
I’m new here but I can see so much support and it’s truly amazing.

I was wondering if there’s anyone here with similar situation to me.
I’ve had an ectopic back in May last year which broke me down.

I’ve found out last week that I am pregnant with three positive tests.

I’ve gone to have an ultrasound but couldnt see anything as it might be too early.

Had bloods taken and they said my progesterone level is borderline-21

Had another blood test today to see if it had risen and I’m so nervous.

Can’t think of losing another pregnancy.

Anyone here has any clue about progesterone levels??

@Esther1211 I am going through the same thing, however they have told me I am not pregnant. Had 5 positive pregnancy tests and progesterone 39nmol and they did a scan and saw nothing. They told me I am not pregnant..

Did you end up being pregnant and did your progesterone levels raise? What was your hcg if you don’t mind me asking if you had bloods?

Thank God things have gone very well. The scan where they couldn’t see anything was just really early. I went two weeks later for another scan and we saw a heartbeat and was told I was 6 weeks pregnant.
I really can’t remember though the hcg levels or any results I got back.
So I’m sorry about that.
Are you 100% your not pregnant if you got positive tests?
Could be your very early just like I was and had to wait 2 whole weeks till we saw the heart beat.

So I missed my period in September and had what the drs classified as implantation bleeding and had 5 positive pregnancy tests since then. I went to EPU and I had a positive urine test but it was faint…
They took my hcg and progesterone and told me my hcg was under 2 (negative) my progesterone was indicative of early pregnancy and my TVUS was either early pregnancy or period coming.

They have discharged me so I am not sure what to do :(.

I have had some symptoms before I though I could have been pregnant but I feel like I have symptoms now but I’m sort of being biased because there’s a chance I could be pregnant if that makes sense ?

I’m not sure if I am early on or if they were failed positives but I don’t feel like the drs and EPU have been clear with me…

3 weeks today since I had implantation bleeding so not sure where that marks me on gestation if I am?

Hoping for the best..

Any idea of what I should do next ( my period should be due on the 8th of October if I am not pregnant..)

@Helwa I can totally understand the frustration your going through as I’ve been there before and the waiting time is a horrible feeling…
If I was you and looking back at my experience I would wait another week or two and take another ultrasound.
But if you do have any pain in your shoulder or stabbing pain..(I don’t want to frighten you) but it might be an ectopic pregnancy and therefore they can’t see the pregnancy on scan if you are pregnant.
The way I found out about my ectopic was a regular period followed by daily staining and I went to check it out and was told it’s ectopic.
My only concern regarding you is because of all your positive tests it might mean a healthy pregnancy which is still too early to detect on a scan or unfortunately an ectopic which hopefully hopefully isn’t.
I guess wait a few more days and ask for another ultrasound.

It is so frustrating waiting. I will wait to see if my period does come in 7 days and wait for it to be late a few days take a test.
I don’t think just that will settle my mind - so I will book a test in to see if i am pregnant and if it is a viable pregnancy. I think that would only be the thing to settle my mind.

I was considering whether it was a chemical pregnancy but I had +s after the apparent implantation spotting / light bleeding for 2 days.
It’s so confusing !

@Helwa so last Thursday they couldn’t see anything on the scan regardless the positive tests and your last period was in September?

My proper period was in august 14th lasted 5 days during ovulation my partner and I did the deeed about 4-5 times & on ovulation day.

A week and a half later started suffering with headaches and bloating. Took a pregnancy test 2nd week of sep on a Friday and had a faint positive .
The next day I had spotting but nothing in underwear just when I wiped which was light pink and then turned brown. I then had very light bleeding for 1 1/2 days. Then I took 4 more tests week on week and they were all positive. I will attach 2 of the tests for you to see.

I then went for a private scan last week Saturday where she said it may be erotic pregnancy as there was fluid in the pelvis towards the right… ( i also have chrons disease so she couldn’t fully confirm)

I then called go who referred me to EPU on Thursday and they did a scan and said my endometrium is enlarged which is a sign or early pregnancy or my period. They couldn’t confirm. They did a urine pregnancy test which was positive. They said there was no ectopic pregnancy and there was no fluid.
They then took bloods and my hcg was under 2 which they said not pregnant and my progesterone was 39nmol which is indicative of early pregnancy. They said they go off hcg so I’m not pregnant, and bye bye basically.

I’m just not sure what to do and would appreciate any advice

The September spotting came when my period should of been and when I explained this to the dr they said it was implantation bleeding that was on the 11-12th sep

@Helwa this sounds like you are pregnant but still really really early.
Before 6 weeks it’s not really possible to see anything on the scan.
Therefore If I was you I would definitely have another ultrasound scan in a week or two to double check.
But if your hcg was really low it might mean a really really early miscarriage, but although the hormone is still in you it’s showing a positive pregnancy test still.
Only option is to wait and see 🙄

I agree I could be really really early - from implantation bleeding it would 3 weeks on the dot today. So maybe worth holding out a week and a half for a scan.
It’s just so frustrating the wait yano!

@Helwa yes you can take another test to see it’s still positive
But three weeks is super super super early
I went first time round at 4 weeks and couldn’t see anything
Went back two weeks later and it took a minute to find the heartbeat and then said I’m 6 weeks.
I would wait 1.5-2 weeks to have another ultrasound
And maybe ask for another blood test to see if the hcg levels are rising too
These are basically the only options for now.
Please keep me updated as would love to know the outcome for you.

@Esther1211 yeah that makes a lot sense. What I’ll do is I’ll wait till my period is a week late take a test book an ultrasound and then request bloods ! Or book bloods time of ultrasound. Hi @Helwa. I'm so sorry to be negative, but I strongly suspect you were pregnant but are experiencing a MC. I just don't see how it's possible for a pregnancy to be successful with an HCG level of 2 in your system.

I appreciate that you're still having positive tests, but as the hospital have said, they go on HCG level and if that's 2, it can't be good news.

If there was any chance that it might change, they would have booked you in for another blood test a day or two after your initial one to check your levels then (I've been in that position myself a couple of times).

I don't want to give you false hope. I'm so sorry.

I’m going to wait and see if I miss my period, which should arrive in a few days.

If I do I will do a test and get bloods redone as the nurses were not too clear in a sense.

Spoke to my friends midwifery friend and she said they should have monitored you a week- 10 days later as this is protocol.

So will wait till I miss it - or if lady flows blesses me then I have my answer.

@Esther1211 hey darling, thanks so much for reaching out and sorry for being so quiet.

My period was due on the 8th I had spotting on the 6th - red blood on 7th on the 8th it was just brown in the morning. Then nothing

I decided to take a test today please see attached and let me know what you think.

I have been feeling quite nauseas the last 5 days .. so not sure

I think I will call the go tomorrow not sure what to do tbh
