When to worry post miscarriage?

I just had a 7 weeks miscarriage, a hematoma ruptured and I lost twins a week ago. I finished bleeding yesterday, I'm concerned as i keep getting shooting pains through my cervix and womb and have had a tiny amount of brown yellow discharge. Is this my womb shrinking or is this the start of pid?

I would get in touch with EPAC for advice if you’re concerned. Unfortunately I’m no help as I had an MVA to manage my miscarriage. So sorry for your loss xx

Condolences on your loss. You are best speaking to epau, they will be able to scan you to check that everything is settling down as it should.

I've only had prolonged bleeding due to an infection after a mc.

Sorry for your loss. Miscarriage is always described as a thing that just happens, but actually the after effects can last for a while.

After my miscarriage I was bleeding on and off for about a week with period like cramps.

However with any concerns do speak to your EPU for reassurance.

I called epu out of hours who sent me to a&e who sent me to the out if hours gp who told me to get an sti test even saying chlamydia can randomly come back.. I've never had chlamydia. When I had pid it was because of tissue left after miscarriage.

Hey @toria33 just wanted to say I posted a similar thread a few weeks ago as I was having the same thing. I miscarried at the beginning of Feb and afterwards had shooting pains, almost like period pains in my cervix. I was 7 weeks too, it lasted for a while but then it settled down and its been ok since.
Probably worthwhile getting a doctor's opinion but just wanted to say I've been in the same boat and everything turned out to be fine x

Toria33 · 31/03/2021 13:33

@mugcake did you have yellow discharge?

@toria33 yes a bit, kept thinking AF was going to start. Still worth getting checked out obvs, but sounds just like what I had.

Been prescribed antibiotics for a week by my gp.. she said the shooting pain that takes your breath away isn't normal and was very worrying combined with the yellow discharge.
