UTI or just early pregnancy symptoms?

Hello

Can anyone share their experience with early pregnancy and UTI. I’m 6+5 and feel rubbish, they say UTIs are common but then all symptoms just could be the normal early pregnancy symptoms. I don’t have any of the usual burning sensation. But the urge to go is at least once an hour. Aches and pains and twinges all over and pressure in my lower abdomen.

It’s such a scary time because soon as I’m pregnant I don’t feel like myself so can’t decipher between something wrong and something normal?

As PP said, if you think it might be a possible UTI, contact the GP. Then you'll have your answer

I also never had any symptoms with my UTI. The midwife just discovered it in my dip test

I didnt have burning with my pregnancy UTI, was just urinating more frequently. UTI's can have more serious consequences in pregnancy so see your GP and bring a urine sample (or full bladder!)

I had UTIs throughout this PG. No burning just needed loo often and had cramps - so normal PG stuff. Get a urine test at GP - it's really easy for them to do.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. UTIs can present differently to how they normally do for you when pregnant. Could definitely be worth dropping off a sample for testing. I also have found that on the dip mine looks normal but when they send it to the lab it comes back with the result that I have a bacterial UTI. So since being in my second trimester I push for lab testing.

@Flittingaboutagain that's interesting that yours show clear when dipped but an infection when sent off. I had a UTI early last week and after antibiotics I was still getting symptoms. I've had two dip tests done since and both clear and I'm certain at least one was just binned, and don't think the other got sent off either. I'll query in future if they are sending them off or not!
