So, my partner and I got engaged in February. We are planning our wedding for March 2022.

We are TTC. I'm not out yet this month as af hasn't shown yet but if it does I'm not sure if we should keep trying now or wait until after the wedding.

Only because I'm not sure I want to be heavily pregnant for it or just recovering from birth!

Would you or have you got married while pregnant? Was it okay or exhausting?

Opinions please Brew

We started TTC as soon as we got married. I wanted to try sooner though. However, now I'm 15 weeks I'm so glad we waited. First trimester I was bloated, had horrendous sickness etc, it would have ruined my wedding day and the excitement of the build up. Plus you have the stress of the dress not fitting. If your age is okay, I would 100% wait as pregnancy is unpredictable and will take over your life.

Depends how old you are and if you can afford to lose a year of trying. If you’re 26, no problem. If you’re 36, I wouldn’t wait.

I'm due in June and getting married in July with a newborn and an 8yo in tow. We're more than happy making it a family day for us all rather than a wedding day for just us. Baby was a complete surprise as my 8yo was an ivf miracle so we just feel it just have been meant to be.

I'd also say it depends on your age. If this is your first child and you are mid-thirties I'd think carefully about delaying it altogether. You could skip some months of trying to avoid the date being when you are very heavily pregnant, have nausea (worse from weeks 6-12 for most) or have a very small baby. I eloped in my first trimester and didn't feel great but I was a bridesmaid for my best friend when my baby was only a few weeks old and that was much more difficult - I leaked breast milk down the dress!
