18 weeks today and waiting to feel the baby’s flutters (first baby) 🥰 haven’t felt anything as of yet...anyone wanna join the wait with me and let me know when you first feel them? Expecting my baby boy 31st august and so excited for those little kicks to start 💙

I'm due August 28th and also waiting! I don't have much of a bump yet, but lots of stretching and pulling feelings, so I wouldn't be surprised if I miss the first flutters by thinking it's just another stretch.

mayihavesomecakeplease · 01/04/2021 11:35

@Shannondd3108 I keep feeling like someone is tickling my stomach with a paint brush today and yesterday. I'm not sure if that's the start of feeling movements, but maybe?

Shannondd3108 · 01/04/2021 11:38

@mayihavesomecakeplease how many weeks are you? It’s interesting to hear everyone’s different opinions on how they feel 🥰 I have no idea what to look out for I suppose when they happen I’ll just know x

@Shannondd3108 I'm 18w 5d ☺️

I am 14 weeks (this is baby no.3 for me) and I am sure I have felt a few tiny movements. I can't wait for them to kick in properly or better still for my DP to feel the baby moving. This is his first child and he is so excited!

Rosieposy89 · 01/04/2021 12:14

I'm 15+3, first baby and waiting too. Getting a bit anxious I'll never feel them move but not expecting it for a few weeks yet!

Moominmiss · 01/04/2021 12:17

I’m 15+3 with baby number 4 and have definitely felt flutters and light movements for a couple of weeks now.

I think with my first I remember feeling something around 19/20 weeks. After each pregnancy I’ve felt movements earlier.

aboutthatlife · 01/04/2021 13:56

I'm 19+4 and felt my first proper kicks this morning!

I have been feeling little flutters for the last week but wasn't 100% sure if it was the baby, but today was definitely kicks!!

Shannondd3108 · 01/04/2021 15:45

Can’t wait to get to that point every time I think I feel a flutter it’s gone so I can’t tell 🤷🏼‍♀️💙

Can I join please, I'm a bit behind at 14+5 with my first baby but so excited to start feeling movement, I'm analysing every little inner feeling Smile

ExcitingTimes2021 · 01/04/2021 17:48

I’m 21+1 with anterior placenta. Not sure if I have actually felt anything yet. Sometimes I feel a pop or a bubble but like other people said it’s gone before I get chance to figure it out. Just looking forward to the day I just know she is wriggling around in there! Getting very impatient x

Dia12 · 01/04/2021 20:30

Same as you @ExcitingTimes2021 - 21+4 with anterior placenta. Like you said, felt a odd kind of pop but then it's over with before I can really catch it. I keep hearing it could be as long as 24w before I feel anything!
I'm super impatient.

Shannondd3108 · 01/04/2021 21:56

@PineappleSun ofcourse! I’m sure I felt some little kicks this afternoon at 18+2 but I feel like because I’m really trying to feel them I’m just imagining them 🤷🏼‍♀️ Only when I’m lay flat and really paying attention

Would love to join! I'm 16 weeks with my second and think I'm getting close! With my first I remember feeling it as a flutter, like a fish swimming in there is the best way I can describe it! Like a few PP I think I've felt the occasional one, but it hasn't lasted long enough to be able to make sure it's not wind or digestion noises for now!

Paperfox · 02/04/2021 06:17

I'm currently 25 weeks with my second so fully expected to feel the flutters early on. My placenta was in the right place and I was good to go... I remember crying just before my 20 week scan because I hadn't felt anything, convincing myself something was wrong. (It wasn't!) the scan reassured me but still no regular movement at 20... 21... 22... weeks. At 23 weeks I started to feel something (wasn't sure if it was digestion or baby!) then since 24 weeks I've been up most days with a kicking bump at 3am 🤦‍♀️

Don't get too disheartened if it doesn't happen till later on. Of course listen to your body and contact your midwife if you think something is wrong x

ame88 · 02/04/2021 08:09

Ooo I would like to join! I'm 18+6 with an anterior placenta. Can't wait to feel - hopefully will feel more real then!

penguin7 · 02/04/2021 08:33

I'm 14wks4days so still early to feel anything yet but I am excited for it. I just wanted to check how everyone was feeling? My nauseous has stopped and some days I 'don't feel pregnant' is this normal? I'm not really showing yet, I've always had a bit of a belly so can't keep thinking that is my bump lol also that makes me think will being a little overweight affect when I will feel baby move?

Shannondd3108 · 02/04/2021 09:06

@penguin7 I don’t see why it would affect when you feel the baby as you feel them from the inside...I’m well cushioned too 😂 and started to feel the faintest movements at 18+2 (1st baby) afraid I still have morning sickness at 18 weeks

I also have anterior placenta and first flutters/bubbles I think I felt 21 weeks and a few days then nothing and then more with time. I still have days I feel individual light kicks on the sides only and hiccups and more movements at night. One night more distinctive the other almost nothing. It is worrying and have been a couple of times to see the baby checked and the midwives were very reassuring and saying this is normal but good I call them to get it checked so you can always call the pregnancy line for advice- they are super friendly.

primhutch · 02/04/2021 22:11

I'd love to join the wait too (hope it's not for long), I'm 18+2 with my first and haven't felt anything yet - lots and lots of digestion noises and certainly some wind but no baby from what I can tell. I feel like we are constantly just waiting for the next milestone!
Has anyone found out what they're having yet? Xx

GummyBear91 · 03/04/2021 09:32

I was just about to make a post about this so thought I'd jump on!

I'm 15w with my first baby. I'm definitely not expecting anything yet but then I also don't know what I'm likely to feel. I have a very short body (I'm all leg) and I'm pretty slim, so I do have quite the obvious bump already which sped up how fast we told people because I couldn't hide it any longer.

Can't wait to feel baby wriggling around but know I might have a long wait yet!

GummyBear91 · 17/04/2021 08:43

I'm almost convinced that I've felt the odd flutter here and there this week. I'm 17w today so feel it's pretty early but I also have a short body and I'm pretty slim so wondering if baby doesn't have much room!!

It's always very low down in my abdomen and when I'm sitting still. DH is excited and wants to feel it too. Can't wait for him to feel things as I know he's icthing to feel baby Smile

AdventuresAwait · 17/04/2021 09:01

Yes please! I'm 19+2 & it is my first baby so no idea what to expect, though I've heard it's like bubbles popping or a fish tail moving!
I've seen her move lots in scans/appointments but I have an anterior placenta so know it might be a bit later that I actually feel her.
I've wondered if a couple of things I've felt have been movements but really don't know!
Can't wait to feel baby move.

Salvationz · 17/04/2021 09:58

@Shannondd3108 I posted a thread yesterday about not feeling any movements yet so I’m joining the wait x

Shannondd3108 · 26/04/2021 12:35

Lil update I had a private scan at 16 weeks to find out we’re having a lil baby boy and was told I had an anterior placenta... from 18 weeks I couldn’t tell if I felt anything then from 19 weeks it went from nothing to good strong kicks 💙 had my 20 weeks scan and my placenta moved to posterior so when it was at the flutters stage it was cushioned by the anterior placenta hence why it went straight to big kicks 😁 now 22 weeks and he’s kicking away all throughout the day 💙💙💙
