I went for my 12 weeks scan and baby was measured at 11 week 5days gestation age. Do they add 2 weeks to the scan?
So if they measured baby at 11 weeks 5 days really The baby is 9 weeks 5 days.

So would I have conceived 2 weeks after?
Sorry for the confusion 🤦‍♀️

The sperm met the egg 9 weeks and 5 days ago.
The actual pregnancy is dated from the first day of your last period, which medics assume it's 2 weeks before ovulation -but that's not the case for every woman. Hence you are 11 weeks 5 days.
Congratulations ❤️

They estimate conception was 9wk 5days ago and add 2 weeks on to say how many weeks pregnant you are.

The key word being "estimate", babies measure similar sizes during the dating scan window but they can still be slightly out.

All pregnancies are dated from the last menstrual period, as we have no idea when conception actually took place. So for approximately a fortnight, the pregnancy is purely theoretical. That’s why pregnancy is described as lasting 40 weeks, when it is actually only nine months.

40 weeks is 9 months. There are more than 4 weeks in a month. 40 weeks = 280 days. There are 272 days in 9 months.
