18 weeks tomorrow baby no 2, I think i was feeling some very slight movements from 16 weeks especially when I lay down but this last 5-6 days i haven't felt anything and something just feels different, its not uncomfortable to lie on my front or wear tight clothes anymore. I can't decide if I'm just over thinking or I should get checked?! When did everyone feel movements with baby 2?

I didn’t want to read and run as I’m in a very similar situation but I’m only 14 weeks. I started feeling movement at 12 weeks and it was flutters. I had 5-6 episodes of these flutters over the week and since 13 weeks I’ve felt nothing. I even posted a thread about it and was advised not to worry because it was very early on. I’m still thinking about it daily, why haven’t I felt a single flutter since? If I felt it then I should feel it now as baby is meant to have grown over the last two weeks ideally?

@Merrz - I’m worried I’ll ring my midwife and sound ridiculous and probably be dismissed but you’re a bit further along so why don’t u ring urs x

FruitLoopzz · 28/03/2021 13:23

Also it’s my 3rd pregnancy so I know what movements are and I know I wasn’t mistaken with what I felt at 12 weeks, you just know don’t you x

Fruit the MWs who looked after me would rather you got checked than be at home worrying Thanks

I felt my second from around 14 weeks. And often had a space of 3 or 4 days where I didn't feel them.
I did ask my midwife about it and she said it's because they're still small enough to get into positions you can't feel.

I was constantly worrying about it though!

Chelyanne · 28/03/2021 13:32

I'm 19+5 with baby 6. My last pregnancy was twins so I felt loads of movement at this stage with them. This one hides away and I often miss her movements, I can't wait for my anomaly scan on Tuesday as I worry constantly.

They are still so small at this stage that they can easily get in to positions where their movement can't be felt. It's probably normal but you can ask your midwife if you like.

leftitlate37 · 28/03/2021 13:36

if this helps at all, and this is baby number 1 not 2 sorry,i have intermittently had what turns out was baby movement...little bits of bubbling occasionally around 14/15 weeks. Didnt realise it was that til had 16 week appt. Heard HB then, and also had private scan yesterday (nearly 17wk) and all was fine...v v v wiggly but i haven't felt anything for quite a few days, they said it's still early and depends where they are sitting.

FruitLoopzz · 28/03/2021 17:32

I think I’m going to book a scan just for peace of mind. I had my 12 week scan a few weeks ago and all was fine, felt movement that week and nothing since. I know it’s so early and baby is so small but can’t help but wonder why i haven’t felt a single flutter in two weeks. Hoping baby is in a diff position and is okay x

Merrz · 29/03/2021 08:16

Thanks for all the replies. I just seem to be constantly worrying this time. @Fruitloopzz yes that's what I can't understand, I definitely did feel movements before so why would they stop for do long, think I'll give my mw a call this morning

@Merrz - let me know how you get on, I hope all is well. I’m intending to get booked in for next week for a private scan because there’s such a huge wait between the 12 and 20 week scans. I know baby is small right now so it’s possible I was just lucky to have even felt something two weeks ago x

Merrz · 30/03/2021 17:12

So I didn't actually phone mw yesterday, decided to give it one more day and woke up this morning feeling very big and having lots of movements. I'm assuming baby had just tucked it's away somewhere I couldn't feel it 🤷‍♀️ How are you doing *@FruitLoopzz?

That's good news. Not long until your next scan now.

I had my anomaly scan today and turns out I have an anterior placenta, explains why this little girl can hide away so easily. Head down too, I though as much as I've felt scratch movements down low (little hands by her head). She's very active so happy with that.

FruitLoopzz · 30/03/2021 20:01

@Merrz - so glad to hear that, hope it carries on like that with no more scares for you 😊 I’ve booked a private scan just to see baby and make sure all is well as I’ve had not a single flutter in 2 weeks. Hope it’s good news for me x

Merrz · 31/03/2021 08:53

Let me know how you get on @Fruitloopzz
@Cheylyanne Glad your anomaly scan went well, i'm wondering whether i maybe have an anterior placenta as the movements do feel a bit more muffled compared to how i remember 1st time around, although maybe i've just forgotten how they felt at this stage. I'm also carrying a bit more fat than 1st time around, not sure if that makes any difference. Can’t wait for my 20 week scan, I seem to be so much more nervous and over thinking everything compared to 1st time around. I would book a private scan for reassurance but we’re quite remote so would mean a bit of a journey.
