I'm 38 + 1, I'm having severally bad back pain in the upper right side. I have had back and rib pain throughout my whole pregnancy. It kind of feels like spasms in my back. I do have a little abdominal cramp but nothing to worry about I don't think. Usually if I lay down the pain goes not today it's just getting worse. Please does anyone know what this may be or any tips

Give triage a call. They know better than people on here

Hiya, I have called they have advised me to take pain killers and call back in 1 hour if no better. Just wondered if anyone else had similar and knew what it was or could be

Could it be labour? My first labour, the pain was all in my back and I didn't get contractions as I expected. Is it coming and going like a contraction or constant?

The pain is coming and going, sometimes it's last like 30 second and then sometimes a little longer, I'm also having more lightening crutch and a little period pain on and off so not sure if it is very early labour. Thank you for you reply xx

Could be labour, mine was all in my back and not what I expected it to be like. I had period type pains across the bottom of my bump at most, but mainly nothing. Good luck OP!

Thank you, I'm starting to get a little more period pain now. I took my pain killers 45 minuets ago now so let's see. I hope it is labour! My midwife has confirmed baby is back to back so not sure if that's why I'm getting more pain in my back.

Sounds like the start of labour.

lljkk · 27/03/2021 22:17

Labour (!) or Braxton Hicks.
Check your bags.
Try to sleep.
It could stop for a while.
Or it may not...

Help please! Back pain
