Successful sweep?

I’m 39+4, had a sweep on Wednesday evening due to reduced movements. Midwife said I was 1cm but was stretchy and managed to stretch to 3cm.

Nothing really happened for a while until yesterday afternoon when I had a bloody show. I’ve passed 3 more large gloopy blood streaked blobs, about 5cm long and had lots of bloody mucus since then but I don’t feel like I’m progressing towards the start of labour any further. I’ve had some intermittent pain in my lower back and the occasional pain as if I’ve held my wee in too long but nothing that I would class as contractions.

I was induced via drip at 38 weeks with DC1 so never gone into labour naturally so have no idea what the signs are really.

Did it take anyone this long after a sweep for things to start ramping up or do I need to accept that the sweep hasn’t been successful?

Any input would be appreciated please, I’m losing my mind watching for any sign!

I had one at 40 weeks and the baby was born 3 days later. I'm not sure it helped. Sorry can't be more use!!

If there's reduced movements has this been properly investigated?

@kwaziseyepatch I’ve had a few reduced movements but the babies always gone crazy as soon as I’ve gone on the monitor, had 2 scans at 34 and 38 weeks that both showed baby was growing fine and blood flow was fine. They offered to keep me in on Wednesday night and monitor if I wanted and then possibly induce me but movements had again picked up so I felt happy to go home. Kind of wish I’d stayed in now and gone ahead with the induction! Baby has been moving fine today and yesterday so no reason to go back in.

Fingers crossed hope things ramp up soon. Such a frustrating time isn't it? The not knowing when things will kick off
