Hi ladies let me start by saying congrats 🥳 & the Lord is indeed great. I'm currently 4wk 5days & due few days after my Bday, Nov 29th. Got my bfp at 11dpo. Had a MC in jan so I am happy but still a bit anxious. I have my MW booking today. I am praying that this baby goes full term 🙏. It will be nice to share the journey with others that are around the 4-6WEEK mark p/s just to support, inspire and motivate each other. Im on pregnacare, higher folic & aspirin. Currently weeing alot, nauseous & tired. I pray as God has started these journey for us he will see us through and grant us all a full term health baby. Amen 🙏🤞❤

Hello,

Please can I join too? Congratulations everyone! 😊

I'm 5 weeks and 3 days and my mind is all over the place. Its nice to be able to reach out to other ladies going through the same.

This is my first pregnancy since I had a mc almost 10 years ago. I was much younger then but I'm so worried about it happening again. I'm so in tune with my symptoms as my boobs have been really sore, but the last couple of days they seemed to have eased off. It's making me panic as I distinctly remember the feeling last time of not feeling pregnant anymore. I'm also suffering with insomnia - I just can't get a full night's sleep.

I have an early reassurance scan booked for 10th April - hopefully it will put my mind at ease. I'm doing everything I should be but still really anxious about going for the scan and not getting the news I want.

Goatgirl91 · 27/03/2021 08:55

@l16bxt welcome and congratulations 🥳

@Lalaaa congratulations! It’s my first too and I’m 5 weeks, I had some cramping early on but now don’t really have any symptoms. Other than like you waking up in the middle of the night wide awake and I’m still have crazy dreams. If anything I think the lack of symptoms are making me feel better. Try not to worry I know it’s easier said than done, fingers crossed your scan goes well. Keep us updated Smile

@Lizbb my DP swears by his Sectretlab chair but I think it’s more for gaming rather than lumbar support lol

Lizbb · 27/03/2021 09:35

@Lalaaa hey hun congrats and try to not worry. I'm also feeling the same as I mc in jan and although I'm happy I feel a bit anxious. I check down there all the time but its cm🙈. I holding on to the word of God and just trying to do what is right (exercise, eating healthy and taking vits). Stress is not good as it releases a hormone that suppresses progesterone and we need progesterone. Also read that insomnia is caused by reduced progesterone have u checked ur bloods. I would try eat greens like kale, brocoli, vit c like orange to boost progesterone. I gogglea it today and try not to worry. The Lord is in control 🙏🥰

Morning everyone how are we. Tempted this morning I know I should stop as progesterone level changes and the temp can fluctuate so it drop a hit go scared and tested thank God all looks good. We can only pray and hope. 🙏

@Goatgirl91 congratulations to you too! Yes I've had some pretty intense dreams since finding out too! I usually love a good bubble bath and that normally helps me sleep better but (because of the things I'm reading online) I'm too paranoid about the temperature of the water. I've been opting for showers instead but they're not the same 😢 Looking forward to the scan so will update yous 😊

@Lizbb thanks for the article suggestion - an interesting read! I think it's natural to worry, especially if things haven't worked out in the past. I think it's difficult during the first few weeks because you don't have a bump and can't feel baby wriggling around. We just have to have faith and it's wonderful that these forums exist for support! Im taking the pregnacare max tablets atm and they have lots of goodness in them. I'm also trying to eat more of a balanced diet. Haven't had any bloods yet but I got my midwife appt through the post this morning for the 20th of April. I assume I may have some bloods taken then. I'm planning on a real relaxation day today so I can feel good instead of worrying! Congrats on the BFP - sending lots of positive vibes!! 😊

Lizbb · 27/03/2021 12:36

@Lalaaa hey hun i agree some of the things I've read have scared me from doing stuff but at the same time I've learnt loads. Of course we are human and prone to worry and cos as you said we can see or feel anything it makes us worry. Feel nauseous today and tired. Just resting. That's good have ur midwf appointment soon yea they take alot of blood to check for everything. Same take pregnacare has good vits. I'm anemic as well but have to wait for blood teat to come back before given irons but pregnancare have it so that helps. Was checking for scan prices here in Bedfordshire, a whopping £75. 🤔

Hi mums to be congrats to you all. Good luck on your journey. I’m blessed to have a 17 year old and a 5 year old and now 5 weeks+2 just found out this week exciting but now I’ve noticed some light bleeding and cramping and worried. I did have a bit of slight bleeding last pregnancy and went on to have a normal pregnancy so must have been implantation but can’t help but worry this time has anybody had similar can tell me either way.x

Lizbb · 27/03/2021 13:19

@Cdmum1 hey hun congrats🥳. Havent had any bleeding yet just slight cramps. I also worry as my mc in jan started with bleeding and cos it was my first one I didnt no what to expect. In ur case I doubt there is anything to worry about babe if its light but call epu if you thing it gets worse. I think when the cramps hurt, or the pain is at your side and the bleeding is bright red and heavy than u need to worry. I pray to God that's not your case. Amen 🙏

OP posts:
cdmum9 · 27/03/2021 13:30

@Lizbb thanks for that. Sorry to hear about your MC, hoping this a successful journey for you.

It's just a worry isn't. I'm hoping but just can't remember how it was with my last but can remember the worry and going to the doctors and her basically telling me prepare for the worst .. it was horrible and then basically getting treat like I was stupid at the hospital.
I'll keep an eye on what happens but it sounds like implantation and Mc has very similar symptoms so I'm sooo conflicted. How long should I wait to speak to someone? Anyone with similar.x

Lizbb · 27/03/2021 13:39

@cdmum9 hey hun did u change but name lol. Yea defo a worry. I always feel down there to check but it's just cm 🙈. Just findings way to prevent anything negative but there is only so much we can do. I've just left the rest to God 🙏. Yea not nice when the hospitals done support. See how it goes this evening but u can call epu, has the bleeding stopped? Im sure its implementation and old blood. Sometimes when u call the unit they ask how long and heavy is the bleeding, wait and calm us if heavy, painful etc. That's rubbish as soon as someone calls in they should book to see them. I understand they are busy but we pay tax and we are worried.

cdmum9 · 27/03/2021 14:05

@Lizbb yeah I tried to download the app and they wouldn't let me log in lol.
I'll keep an eye s as no get in contact if gets worse if heavier.
Hard not to worry but what wil he will be.Xx

Goatgirl91 · 28/03/2021 10:55

Morning girls! How are you all?

Have you told anyone yet? I’m trying to wait until 12 weeks but I particularly want to tell my sister and my MIL. I’m happy to leave my parents for a bit so I can surprise them with the scan and not worry them 😊.

I just don’t want to jinx anything with it being so early!

ahuss · 28/03/2021 11:12

Hi everyone. I've only just joined mumsnet. This is my first pregnancy. Due to the current climate the internet is slowly becoming my best friend in helping me get through my first trimester. I am currently 5weeks and 1 day. I haven't had any appointments yet but I am booked in to see the midwife on the 19th of April. As you can imagine time feels like it is frozen! I really want to book in for any earlier appointment/scan but don't want to seem like an nag! Any tips ?

Lizbb · 28/03/2021 11:12

Hey guys question. So I know I should stop testing 🙈 but cant help it. Has this happen to anyone else. I use the same wilkos stick to test with my first urine at around 8am but when I test again around 10am it more darker. 🤔. Defo gonna stop testing before I drive myself mad lol

OP posts:
Lizbb · 28/03/2021 11:15

@Goatgirl91 same babe lol dont wanna jinx anything and also have my family worry. I'm gonna wait at least for 12 wk scan 🙏
@ahuss hey hun I'm 5wk today and have a 12wk scan booked but doubt incandescent wait that long still anxious from my mc in jan. I'm looking at booking a private scan maybe at 8 wks. That might be worth looking at

OP posts:
Goatgirl91 · 28/03/2021 11:16

@Lizbb I haven’t tested since I found out! I figured that AF hasn’t come so it must be real. I do fancy doing a CB digital for fun though.

@ahuss welcome and congratulations! I’m not having an early scan I’ve read too many things about how they don’t see anything because it’s too early and I just don’t want that worry. I completely agree with you that the times frozen though!

Lizbb · 28/03/2021 11:20

Apparently by 8 wks things and heart beat should be visible so hopefully that will be the case. 🙏🙏

OP posts:
ahuss · 28/03/2021 11:22

@Lizbb how do you book a private scan? And I've read some people are going for scans but not met their midwife. Isn't it the midwife who does the scans? I'm a little confused. This is all so new to me!! My appointment at 8 weeks is with the midwife, does this I still won't have a scan on that appointment? 😣😣

Val098123 · 28/03/2021 11:25

Hey girls, I had a private scan with both previous children and both times was great experience, they confirm if single/multiple pregnancy and show you the babies heartbeat and estimated due date. I would recommend... just make sure you are confident you are AT LEAST 7 weeks. Anything earlier I wouldn't recommend as can be too early to detect heartbeat. I couldn't have gone full 12 weeks without that reassurance 🤣 I have another booked thus time round x

Val098123 · 28/03/2021 11:27

@ahuss no scan at 8wk midwife appointment. That's just a booking apt, where midwife asks lots of Qs and takes your weight etc. You won't be due first scan by midwife (NHS) until week 12. However you can pay for a private scan, there are lots of baby scan clinics across the country and they offer early reassurance scans from around 7 weeks so you can see baby heartbeat and reassurance that everything progressing well x

ahuss · 28/03/2021 11:28

@Val098123 how much do private scans cost in the UK? Is it different depending on where you live ?
