Positive induction stories

Hi Ladies,

I'm 40+1 and my induction has just been brought forward to tomorrow due to repeated episodes of reduced movements.

I'm just looking for some positive induction stories as I'm a FTM and was hoping for spontaneous labour but that's not to be.

Any positive stories people could share?

Mine was positive. 40+2 IOL due to ivf. No other complications. Pessary in at 11am. It much happening. Bouncing on ball. Watching Netflix as on my own. 6pm mild period style pain. Bit of cramping. 11pm bur more period style pain. Had two paracetamols and a bath. That helped. 1am waters went naturally but had meconium in them. 2am phoned DH as 3cm dilated. Contractions fairly regular. 3am had diamorphine. Contractions thick and fast. 5.30am fully dilated. 6.30am beautiful baby boy was born.

Wishing you lots of luck. Nearly there now

Took 3 days, 7hr 38 after waters broken. That hormone drip is not nice, made me vomit and contractions much worse than natural onset so had epidural after hours of labor. Baby became distressed so they used vontouse, cord round neck. Was up walking within an hour of birth as I regained feeling in my legs, bit wobbly though and got told off lol. Was kept in 2 nights after birth as born late at night, 6 nights in total after initially being admitted for high blood pressure. I wouldn't volunteer for induction again but it wasn't too bad really. Our next one was 6 days labor from being 1cm dilated, slow labor is rubbish.

Mine was positive as well. Induced at 37+1 due to pre-eclampsia.

Day 1: Two sets of gel pessaries. Nothing much happens. Highlight of the day was lasagne for dinner.
Day 2: 1am - Bought down to delivery suite. 3am - Waters popped. 5am - Drip goes on. Turned up every half hour until contracting strongly and regularly. 7am - Ouch. This hurts. Gas and air time. 8am - 3cm (Is that all?! 😭). 11am - 5cm. This is really starting to get painful now. It's Diamorphine time! 11.10am-3.55pm - Nap time between contractions peaks. 4pm - 10cm! 4.10 - Still riding the high. No more gas and air allowed. 4.20pm - Start pushing. 4.44pm - Holy crap there's an actual baby. ?pm - Placenta finally makes an appearance. ?pm + ~2 hours - Stitches! 11pm - Postnatal ward

Started my induction on the Monday morning, all calm and relaxed
Tuesday around midnight my waters broke while I was asleep but were heavily stained with meconium so straight down to delivery suite.
Had a lovely relaxing bath while my husband and midwifes set the room up for me with battery operated tea lights, then onto the drip.
The drip was fine and the contractions were easily manageable but I ended up having a epidural due to exhaustion.
Managed to sleep most of the day. I ended up with a section mid afternoon, but the whole experience was very calm and I was relaxed throughout.

So although it sounds like a bit of a shit show, it was a very positive experience for me.

You're going to be fine, take the drugs if you want them, you're in very good hands and try to relax.
