I’m 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant. No symptoms at all apart from a sharp cramp on my left side after sudden movement. I may be worrying over nothing but since finding out I was pregnant I have been so worried about miscarriage! 😞 I’ve even booked an early scan. Thank you

What symptoms do you expect at such an early stage? You are only just pregnant. You'll have signs and symptoms soon enough.

Presumably you've had no period for a while, that is a symptom.

DelurkingAJ · 25/03/2021 16:41

I had no symptoms and even had a light ‘period’ - both DSs are healthy and I had remarkably ‘boring’ pregnancies (quoting my midwife).

llol031 · 25/03/2021 17:10

I was similar to you at 5 weeks and even took a couple more pregnancy tests to be sure lol

A nurse in my fertility clinic advised me unless you are having very painful cramps and/or heavy bleeding, you should try not to worry (easier said than done I know!)

I am currently 7+5 and my symptoms only really started this week, enjoy it while it lasts ;)

But you may also never really have symptoms. Every pregnancy is different :)

Mariex1989 · 25/03/2021 17:36

@abig95 hey, I’m 5+3 with barely any symptoms either! Glad it’s not just me I’ve been driving myself mad 🙈
When is your early scan? I’ve booked one too x

Symptoms don't mean anything.
I've never had symptoms in all 5 pregnancies apart from sore boobs that come and go.
If anything I had more symptoms with my pregnancies that ended in miscarriage!

It has no indication on how your pregnancy is going.
You're also still very early

Summersun001 · 25/03/2021 18:56

Wow @jessstan2. You’re insensitive. Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. If this is her first pregnancy - how is she supposed to know?

Many women experience a variety of symptoms @abig95. Some not at all! Usual things are sickness, tiredness, sore boobs. Try not to worry too much. Like @SnooperTrooper12345 said - it’s not an indication of viability. I had a miscarriage and had all of the symptoms! Just try and keep calm :) x

jessstan2 · 25/03/2021 19:08

Blimey, what have I said that provoked that?

I'm sorry about your miscarriage.

ClimbAHill · 25/03/2021 22:10

I had a miscarriage this time last year having had symptoms before my period was even ‘missed’ right up to when I started bleeding. I’m now 25 weeks pregnant and this time I didn’t have any symptoms other than no period until I was about 7 weeks and they came on more gradually (but hung around for a while!). As someone else said symptoms aren’t an indication and will be different for everyone. Good luck.

abig95 · 26/03/2021 09:57

Thank you everyone for your lovely messages. This is my first pregnancy and I am very nervous but hopeful. Good luck to all!

6 weeks tomorrow no symptoms here too. My mum said she was the same. I never suffer from pms- don't get sore boobs or anything like that so maybe my body doesn't manifest rising hormone levels? It's quite unnerving not feeling pregnant but I came across a lot of women saying they didn't feel pregnant early on so counting myself lucky. I suffered a loss back in December and hoped this pregnancy would feel different but so far I'm feeling the same. As people pint out no period is a pretty solid symptom :) good luck op and everyone else xx

My symptoms never kicked in until 6 and a half weeks. What you're experiencing is very normal so far! As a pp said, a missed period IS a symptom.

For reference, I had a missed miscarriage in 2019 and my symptoms never stopped at all until I had surgical management. My baby stopped growing 4 weeks before this.

No symptoms does not equal bad news! A mantra that helped me when I was pregnant with my daughter was:

Today I am pregnant.

Hi,
I’m 5+5 with my 5th pregnancy.
we miscarried twice before getting out little girl then sadly had an ectopic pregnancy November 2021 which resulted in losing my right tube.
we are now expecting again and I really want to feel excited but am absolutely terrified.
we are booked in for an early scan on Monday to ensure baby is in the right place etc.
symptoms currently are slight cramping ( no spotting etc ) and very sore boobs!

xx

@abig95 how are you now?

@Becky13289 hope Monday goes well for you.

Wintersgirl · 07/05/2022 22:10

I had none, zilch...nada, the only proof I had was a positive test and a growing bump! Seriously I actually had to remind myself I was pregnant, I felt that normal...
