Anyone interested in a support thread?

I'm due in August with DC3 but have a huge gap between DS1 & 2 so I've never been through this bit with a toddler around before :)

DS2 will be 3 when the new baby arrives.

Would be fun to share tips and things.

Also is anyone else still breastfeeding their toddler through pregnancy?

Bet you have much better mind power than superwoman so you can do your work lying down!

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE is that you from the aug 2019 thread? I was whisky2014 and changed to horehound half way through

BurningBenches · 04/04/2021 17:57

@horehound I was on the Aug 2019 thread and group. I had my 4th, 5th of August

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 04/04/2021 18:18

Yes horehound thought i recognised you! It was an Aug/Sept thread wasn't it? I can't remember what my name was Blush DC5 was born early Sept.

@burningbenches that's so funny there's a few of us now all coming full circle again! My son was born 21st aug

Horehound · 04/04/2021 18:21

Yes that's right @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE!
I remember we were all like omg FIVE and now you're into 6!! How many do you think you'll have?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 04/04/2021 18:34

Just the six!

Some serious research into doing something with my tubes is ongoing lol Grin

I have 19m gap between my two youngest. Bf til 8.5 months pregnant through terrible feeding aversion. Every time poor DS1 latched I was tense and upset from about 5 months on. I got him down to 2 feeds a day, although he was seriously pissed off with me! And then he just...stopped. Tried to latch a couple of times after DS2 was born, but seemed to have just lost the ability. No fuss, no resentment, he adores his brother. I thought I'd end up tandem feeding but it never happened.

I was worried the aversion meant I'd struggle with feeding the new baby, but the second he was born the aversion went. He's now 8 months and everyone is fine.

Can I join? 37 wks pregnant with baby no 2 and my DD is 3.5yo. Found the pregnancy really difficult this time around; hypermesis, PGP and general exhaustion.

I'm having an ELCS this time around which makes me a bit nervous as to how I'll manage a 3yo and new baby after such a major operation too. Anyone have any tips for coping with this scenario? It's elective due to previous birth trauma and an extended pushing stage leaving both me and baby in ICU for days after, and is definitely the right choice for both baby 2 and me. I just wish it didn't come with such a difficult recovery as I'm worried about neglecting my 3yo if I can't do very much.
