Baby only measuring 6 weeks at 8 week scan

Hi,
So I should be around 8 weeks and my scan today showed a baby measuring 6.8mm. The sonograogher said I was 2 weeks behind where I should be.

Last weeks scan showed the yolk sac and a fetal pole. So there is deffinate growth. The slow growth is worrying though.

Has anyone else been in this bother before?

I'm sorry to read this, such a stressful thing to hear. Firstly, sounds daft but are you totally sure of your dates? It may be a lot of worry over nothing if ovulation / conception could have happened later than you think.
This has happened to me twice - first time saw a heartbeat but was measuring 4 days behind so wasn't really that worried, resulted in mmc discovered at 11.5 weeks, baby passed weeks before that. Second time I was measuring a couple of weeks behind like you, but with heartbeat. Was asked if I was sure of dates etc - I was, we'd only dtd once that month. I had to go back 2 weeks later for a rescan where unfortunately baby had passed so another missed miscarriage. I'm sorry my experience is not positive. It was such an awful time waiting for that second scan.
I was however told personally of a couple of ladies experience where they were told they were measuring behind but all turned out well for them.
Have they arranged a rescan if NHS? If not I would contact your EPU to explain to them and they will arrange a scan in week or two. Hope it works out for you

My periods are super irregular but I have already adjusted my dates accordingly to my long cycles etc.

I didn't see a heartbeat on my scan.

I’m in the same boat. I was scanned at 6+3 and there was just a sac and I was told I was more like 5 weeks. Went back on Tuesday and I would be 8+3 by LMP, had yolk sac and fetal pole but no hb. Sonographer told me nothing, no measurements taken or anything was just told to go back again in 7 days so next Tuesday

I’ll be honest I’m fully expecting them to tell me it’s a mmc, even at 7 weeks I’d be expecting to see a hb. It’s the waiting which is just awful isn’t it

It's agonising 😐 what's made it worse for me is seeing the baby in my last scan. If I could never see it I would feel better about it. But now that I've seen it and I also am very suspicious of an mmc 😢😢😢

If you’re cycles are irregular am I right thinking you were mot tracking? How long had that cycle been until you tested? If so you definitely could have ovulated later and implanted later. I have my fingers crossed for a good outcome for you x

If your cycles are irregular, can you be sure when you conceived? Were you doing ovulation sticks or could you be a couple of weeks out with your dates?

I got my BFP earlier this week but have really irregular cycles (anywhere from 26 days to 48 days!) so there is a bit difference between my dates calculated by last period and what I suspect I actually am.

Going by last period, I would be 5 weeks 5 days. But I was ovulation testing and didn't get t a peak ovulation result (or ovulation pains) until day 28 of my cycle....which makes me think I am only 3 weeks 6 days.

I know how worrying it is, but it doesn't necessarily mean a bad outcome. Good luck

For anyone reading this in the future, just know that it wasn't meant to be this time and that my baby stopped growing at 6 and a half weeks. I'm still carrying it at 10 weeks but I've started spotting dark brown. I think a miscarriage is on its way.
