I've had a letter today to say I have lower than average papp-a.
Has anyone had this or currently has it? Im already taking aspirin as my BMI is 35.3 and already having extra scans for the same reason.

Shouldn't have googled but would be keen to hear other peoples experiences x

I had this too and was told by the midwife not to Google which I did. I was really worried but everything was fine and I had growth scans every 4 weeks. My son was born early but was a good weight. Apparently its something they have only recently started testing for.

Thanks @cheshiremom
I've spoken to my midwife who has reassured me slightly but in a worrier at the best of times. 🙈

Hey @crobo87 ☺️ congrats on your pregnancy!

I have Low Papp-a as well, Im currently 25+6 and have a growth scan just before 28 weeks and then every 4 weeks after.

I have however had a few scans in between (not low papp-a related) due to a small measurement at 20 weeks but all is perfectly fine and nothing to worry about.
She did say my baby is measuring smaller than average but nothing to be concerned about as its still within normal ranges. Ive read so much and lots of people have perfectly average size babies but tbh what is average? Im only diddy and short and even the consultant said you'll hardly have a huge baby.

She said if baby slows down or if the placenta starts to stop, they'll just induce you early, you will be well looked after, it really isn't as scary as it seems. It is quite a new thing they test for xx

I had low papp a in 2 pregnancys. Its quite a new thing they test for. Both my babies where born at 7lb 8oz and 8lb 2oz. Had extra growth scans and no worries with them. Due to the low papp a and my fast labour's I was induced a week early all went well. I'm not a tall person either.
