Inconclusive gender result from Harmony test

Does anyone have experience of an inconclusive gender result following the Harmony test or other NIPT - especially if all turned out to be fine.

I have just had mine back and it is low risk for all three trisomies (1/10,000) but the gender came back as inconclusive. I had the test at 11 weeks and this hasn’t happened to me before - I’ve had two previous Harmony tests with the gender result reported, carried out at a similar point in pregnancy.

I’ve done some googling (obviously) and found some laboratory guidance which says that generally this isn’t usually linked to a problem with the baby but in small number of cases could be. My anxiety is through the roof, as I’ve not had the best time getting and staying pregnant and am under the care of the recurrent miscarriage clinic.

I know it isn’t the primary aim of the tests to confirm gender but I could really do without further reasons to worry caused by uncertainty!

@MarvellousMonsters really? How unbelievably inappropriate and insensitive. Please do crawl back under your rock (or is it called something else to you?) and stay there.

Hope you are OK OP. It sounds like a laboratory issue as opposed to there being anything wrong. Best of luck with your pregnancy.

@Lweji thank you that makes a lot of sense.

@EverydayIsPJday thank you. Yes, I will stay open minded and cross any SCA bridges when and if we get there.
Appreciate the support of the group here.

@Jugglinghappy I had my test to reassure me everything was OK with my baby, I didn't care about sex but obviously when it was inconclusive it sent me into a panic. And that was a repeat test. When I went for my 12 week scan the sonographer was so reassuring I completely regretted getting the test and the stress it caused. The test company were useless, said they could only give out results not interpret them.
Please take my positive story as some sort of reassurance & hopefully you will get professional reassurance at your scan x
