Early Labour?

Hi everyone,

This is my second baby but first baby I was induced so no idea what natural labour is like.

I am 34 +3, the last week I'd say my braxton hicks have increased, but today they have felt a bit like period pains in my lower pelvis and back and goes into my thighs. I've been extremely emotional and feel a bit angry lol. I wouldn't say they are overly painful, just feel like I'm about to come on my period when I get them.

However when I have called triage they have said it is not early labour.

Has anyone else had this and it has been early labour?

My labour felt like period pains but I think what's key is they were coming in waves and establishing a pattern.

Are yours coming and going with any sort of predictability or are they random? It might be worth recording them on a contraction timer.

There is no rhyme or rhythm as yet! Just been quite a few today. I feel a heaviness and my back aches. But not sure if this is just normal for this stage of pregnancy? X

I've been having this almost daily since 32 weeks.
I'm now 38+3. Also had it in my previous pregnancies and still went to almost 42 weeks with both.
I think it's just your body preparing itself.

Thank you so much for your reply. Just the thigh pain is what is concerning me, she is moving well so I should take it that everything is fine and she is just getting herself ready!

The thigh pain could possibly be baby pressing on a nerve

I hope so! I'm guessing I will just have to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks! I've been going toilet a lot today as well lol TMI!!
