Movements at 12 weeks

Hey, before anybody mocks me this is my third pregnancy if that makes a difference.

Anyway from 12 weeks I’ve been feeling flutters, definitely not gas as I’ve had 2 kids before so know and recognise the feeling all too well.

However, I was absolutely shocked when it happened so early. It’s always happened nearer the 17-20 week range before.

So I should now be 13.5 weeks but haven’t felt anything since last week. Last week I must’ve had 4-6 episodes of these flutters.

Had anyone felt them this early?
Do you feel them sooner because it’s a 3rd pregnancy or even 4th etc?
Now they are suddenly gone should I worry or should I just be lucky I managed to feel anything this early?

Thanks all x

My second (not counting an mmc) I felt them at 13 weeks, I couldn’t believe it as it was way over 20 weeks the first time, anterior placenta both times. It was very definite but came and went as the baby is so tiny and moves around. I loved it, congratulations!

BurningBenches · 23/03/2021 16:15

Yes with my second I felt from around the same. Absolutely definitely movement.

DC1 was about 16wks, DC3 I didn't feel til gone 19wks (anterior placenta) DC4 was about 13/4 wks and this one was well gone 20wks so massive variety.

Yes I could feel the 1st movements about a week before my dating scan when baby measured 13wk. This is baby number 6 and movements are still easily missed at 19wk. Our 2nd and 3rd I could feel quite early too, this one feels quiet after our 4th & 5th being twins. I've had placentas at the top and back with all of ours, one of the twins was back but low lying.

I’m not going crazy then 😊 so should I not worry that I haven’t felt them for a week now x

In my second pregnancy I'm convinced I felt movement just before my 12 week scan. When I was scanned I was actually 14 weeks, but still early, so I believe you!

Baby is still small enough that they can get into many positions that you won't be able to feel. Even just facing the other way. So I wouldn't say its a worry at this stage.
I felt my second from 13 weeks and felt them for a few days straight and then didn't feel anything for well over a week.

Chelyanne · 23/03/2021 17:19

@FruitLoopzz Not at this early stage.
Don't worry about regular movements until they are much bigger.

SoWhyNot · 23/03/2021 17:26

I had definite movements very early on for my last (sixth) pregnancy. A couple of years later, I still get them so now I know those definite movements weren’t movements at all.

Thank you @Chelyanne

@ParadiseLaundry

In my second pregnancy I'm convinced I felt movement just before my 12 week scan. When I was scanned I was actually 14 weeks, but still early, so I believe you!
I was exactly the same, 3rd baby. '12 week' scan was 13 weeks and was then dated at just shy of 14 weeks. There was no doubt in my mind it was movements, felt more like full body shuffles than kicks.

Op I then didn't feel anything for weeks, they were always in a very specific place so I figured the baby just relocated.

I am now 23 weeks and DH has been able to feel movements externally since 19 weeks.

Don't think you need to worry!

@Muststopeating thank you for the reassurance x
