Nasal spray decongestants in pregnancy?

Hello, just after some advice and experiences from others.

I am such a bad stuffy nose that's been keeping me from sleeping for a few night and making me feel so rough. Pre pregnancy I would use the Sudafed nasal spray which really works! When it comes to pregnancy it says it isn't advised but there isn't really any data on it.
Has anyone else used it in their pregnancy.
I am 24 weeks at the moment.
Thanks

It's not advised.
Maybe try a saline nasal spray instead

Is it hayfever?
You can use corticosteroid sprays and some antihistamines during pregnancy

No it's a bad cold. I've tried the saline sprays and even the flushing of the sinuses ect but nothing seems to be working unfortunately.

Poor you ! I had this at the beginning of my current pregnancy. I used the saline spray but like you say it didn't really do much. I watched some YouTube videos on self sinus massage and they really helped!! So maybe try that?

From the product summary of product characteristics:

No foetal toxicity or fertility studies have been carried out in animals. In view of its potential systemic vasoconstrictor effect, it is advisable to take the precaution of not using Otrivine during pregnancy.

Have you tried a saline spray such as Sterimar or the Neti Pot sinus rinse? I find them quite helpful and absolutely fine in pregnancy.

When I saw the doctor about something else she told me to refer to the website called bumps. It's the website the doctors refer too and it tells you all the pros cons risks ect of different medication on pregnancy so you can make an informed decision .

I used a Neti pot and saline pockets. Only distilled water.
