Platelets

Currently pregnant with DC3 and I have low platelets again (115), they never dropped lower than 90ish with DC2 and they weren’t low enough with DC1 that I needed to see the consultant.

Just wondering if anyone had low platelets, how low did they get and has anyone got lower platelets with each pregnancy?

Anyone? Heard it’s a common pregnancy issue maybe not that common😂

Hiya, I'm currently pregnant with DC2, I'm going through this again. I had it with my son they went as low as 81 but they bounced around and it didn't effect my birth but I was consultant led
This time round I am pregnant with my daughter, I'm consultant led again and as it has happened in another pregnancy I am now under the haematology team and am due to see the anaesthetic team on Monday. They were 89 two weeks ago but have come up to 115 today, they are taking about inducing me so that it's in a controlled environment incase they are low in labour. Hope this helped! Xx

@2littleonesx super helpful thank you! Interesting they might induce you. I will ask this at my next appointment, I would like to avoid if possible but if it’s best for me and baby I will do it. Positives would be I would have a EDD. Hope you appointment goes well and upcoming delivery! X

Following with interest. Mine started dropping fairly rapidly and went to 81 in my last (twin) pregnancy at 34 weeks. The next day I had a placental abruption and cat 1 c section, and the low platelets contributed to my massive blood loss. Now I'm 24 weeks pregnant with a singleton and wasn't aware that this is something that's likely to recur. I also had obstetric cholestasis so am on the lookout for a recurrence of that, but as far as I know low platelets and OC aren't related so hopefully it was just a twin thing for me.
