Deodorant not working

Il be 8 weeks on Sunday and I swear my deodorant has just stopped working? Lol. I shower daily and always immediately put on deodorant once I'm dry. Never had any issues. But the last couple of days I have been a little smelly after only a few hours! Not a really bad smell, but enough for me to notice it and I hate it. I'm not even overly hot or sweaty. Is this a normal thing to happen during pregnancy or am I losing the plot? 😂

Normal!
It was even worse when breastfeeding to start with. I swear I smelt of onions.
I had to change to a cream deodorant, it was a Sure one. Did the trick!

@Megan2018 thanks so much! Will give that a try. Glad I'm not losing the plot 😂. Learn something new about pregnancy every day lol x

The cream/stick/roll on deodorants are so much better than sprays.
It's more likely your increased sense of smell that is making you feel like you are a bit pongy though. Everything smells pungent to me, it's super annoying. In the 1st trimester I'd be gipping under my mask in the supermarket if people were wearing a lot of perfume/aftershave.

lockdownbabyx · 19/03/2021 15:56

@Chelyanne thank you, I do currently use Sanex roll on and have for years. Maybe il try a cream one though.
My sense of smell is definitely heightened too, I've had to get my DP to change his shampoo because I can't stand the smell of it 😂.

I reek since getting pregnant! It must be the hormones although I wasn't this bad first time round. I thought it would get better after the first trimester but it's not. I also use Sanex roll on but it does nothing for me anymore, nor does Dove roll on.

Thank goodness I WFH Blush

lockdownbabyx · 19/03/2021 16:17

@BeesAnkles mad isn't it? Who knew pregnancy could make us smell bad 😂. I had never heard of that before.
I'm currently furloughed so that's a blessing in disguise at the moment I guess. I can hide my pregnancy and no one has to get a whiff of me lol xx

I thought this was just me, my DH is sick of me saying I smell (actually just my right arm pit) I swapped to a roll on and it seems to be a bit better.

Who knew this was normal eh.

lockdownbabyx · 19/03/2021 16:28

@PutOnAHappyFace I genuinely can't believe how common it is. I spoke to my mum who has had 5 kids and she had never heard of it either. I'm glad it's normal though and I'm not the only one stinking out their partner 😂 x

I had this too. Even DP could smell it. I reeked but after a few weeks it calmed down. My midwife said it was hormones

JenniferWaul · 19/03/2021 17:38

Look at what we have to go through 😂 i started using Mitchum Deodorant and its done the trick! So good! Xx

BabyBooDueNov21 · 19/03/2021 17:42

This happened to me when pregnant - stopped as soon as I started washing with a bar of soap rather than shower gel Smile I didn't even need to change deodorant.

Frlrlrubert · 19/03/2021 17:59

Oh yeah, the way I smelled in the mornings used to set off my morning sickness. Bleugh. I'm not sure anyone else could smell it though.

We also had one room I swore smelled vile. No one else could smell it. Eventually figured out it was (fairly) recently painted and I could suddenly still smell the new(ish) paint.

lockdownbabyx · 19/03/2021 18:10

Thank you to all you ladies! I'm glad this is all normal. I'm sure il have lots more pregnancy related issues crop up in the coming months 😂

Yes get the Sure (Clean Scent is my favourite) that is more a stick. It costs a fiver or so but lasts a lot longer than regular deodorants.

Normal, and my feet smelt too! But it all went back to normal one the baby arrived.
