13 weeks pregnant and I've got an awful pain in my bum!

I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant and for the last week I've had a pain that comes and goes - in my left bum cheek! It's kind of near the top, and when it comes on I struggle to put any weight on my left side. It's like a sharp cramp. Any idea what it could be?

My first pregnancy and my first midwife appointment is only at 16 weeks (3.5 weeks from now) so I'll ask then but just wondering in the mean time

Sciatica. You can google exercises to help. It is very common in pregnancy.

As PP said - sciatica, good luck as it only gets worse the heavier you get. Should go away after you give birth.

Ah I wasn't sure if it could be that as it seems early. Thanks for responding though!

I've had the same and I'm around 12/13weeks - got my scan on Tues so will find out dates then.
I've had the pain in my right bum cheek, I have googled it and it does sound like sciatica but I've read you only get it later in pregnancy, I do have a high BMI though so I'm not the slimmest and already feel huge! 😫

I had this for few weeks in first trimester and thought it was so odd and funny! It did dissappear though but just turned into regular back pain higher up x

Sciatica. I had it from 15wks. I'm a size 8. It's just when things move around and the nerve is compressed. I saw a pregnancy physio who fixed it.
