LLETZ - when should I get first cervix scan?

I'm 12w5d and had a really good dating scan earlier this week.

Due to a LLETZ procedure a couple of years ago I need to have my cervix length measured but I've had conflicting information about when the first scan will happen.

Reading online it should be 16 weeks, is that correct? I'm going to call the department tomorrow to check but wondered if others have experience to share before.

Thanks!!

@GummyBear91 yep should be 16 weeks, although I didn’t have mine until 18 weeks and have just had my second one at 20 weeks. They should be every other week until 24 weeks x

Hi op, I had mine at 16weeks. I had a scan every 2/3 weeks from then until I was 32 weeks.

OP, have you been seen in a pre term clinic? With a history of lletz, you should be seen within the first trimester by a pre term clinic consultant or specialist midwife, where they will discuss this with you.
For patients with a history of a lletz then only two transvaginal are scans need to be performed, they can be done anytime between 16 and 24 weeks.
We typically do them at either 18 and 20 weeks or 20 and 24. For us It depends on which consultant the patients are under and what they prefer. you’ll also find lots of different hospitals measure them in different positions, some hospitals measure with patients laying on a slight cushion to tilt hips, some flat on the bed and recently some hospitals are introducing scanning the cervix with the patients sitting up so the pressure of the bump is pressing on the cervix.

@Poppiesway1 I've had nothing. Spoke to midwife again this morning and was told the referral is on their system but they have no appointment date for me. I mentioned I had heard it should be around 16 weeks but they felt it might be later. She wouldn't specify how much later but a midwife told me a few weeks ago before I'd read around it was 28 weeks!! I could have lost baby long before 28 weeks of something is wrong.

Feeling a little anxious now... I've tried to call the Obstetrics team (the number on the bottom of the leaflet I found for my hospital on the internet) but can't get through at the moment so have left a message. I don't know what the chances are of them getting back to me.

Any advice?
