Temp Fillings in Teeth

Hello, I know the title is obvious haha, I’m 16 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I went to the dentist a week ago today, he wasn’t happy to numb me up and drill the tooth and put a filling in so he just took out most of the decay and put a temp filling, but over the week now the temp filling has obviously started coming away and it’s mostly gone now at this point!
I’m just a bit paranoid and worried that swallowing the filling and things would be harmful?
Sorry I probably sound silly but please don’t judge I’m just well and truly in anxiety mood all the time at the moment!

Call your dentist and explain that the temp filling hasn't lasted, it can't be left until after baby is born really.
The temp filling is unlikely to cause any issues if swallowed. The dentist usually avoid the silver fillings (contain Mercury) during pregnancy but can use other ones safely. I've had white fillings done during pregnancy before and all has been fine.

Dental nurse here. Temporary fillings are perfectly safe if swallowed so don’t worry. Although if it’s only lasted a week then maybe they need to rethink what material they use. Definitely cal and get another appointment to get it sorted. You’ve got a long time to wait til after the baby is born.

The only thing is I don’t have a dentist 😩 I have to call 111 to get an emergency, so I can’t get any advice or just get an appointment, I’m gutted I missed one app at my old dentist and they struck me off the list! So I just don’t know what to do and the temp filling has mostly gone now too and the one I saw when I had my emergency app wasn’t happy to do anything but a temp, I’m just feeling so fed up with my teeth at the moment and not being able to get an app to fix them because they’ve awful since I’m pregnant 😩

It would be easier to go private but it's quite expensive. If you can't afford it you'll have to go down the emergency dentist route again, a bit of a pain but better than leaving it.
You should get on a waiting list for an NHS dentist as you will get free treatment up until baby turns 1. www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-dentist

I’ve rang every dentist In my area and further out again but no one is taking on nhs and I’ve been told by them all that their waiting lists are too long so they’re not even adding to them, I’m just feeling so fed up my mouth is in so much pain at the minute and just want to get them fixed 😩 ahh I wish I had the money to go private but fillings are so expensive it’s bonkers!
Thank you for the link! I’m in Wales and I’ve used the Welsh one but there’s no one taking on at all, I could cry!

Bit mean to strike you off for missing one appointment. My dentist only do that if you miss 2 in a 12 month period.

Really rubbish that there doesn't seem to be enough NHS places available, I bet the same ones saying they have huge waiting lists would take you on as a private patient though. Disgusting really.

I know!! Tell me about it! I was called into work and I totally forgot to ring to cancel and rearrange and then when I rang in the afternoon to say sorry to get another app they told me I’m off the list and that they won’t put me back on! 😩
No I know I’m honestly just at a loss at what I can do at the minute! Yeah a few were like that as soon as I said I was pregnant they said you can go private so you’ll have to pay, I think that’s what I’ll have to do 😩
