Early Scan - Slow Progression?

I've just come back from my appointment. I have a rescan in a week. They could see progression but it wasn't as much as they had thought. There was a yolk sac a fetal pole (they think) and an amniotic cavity. Like 2 bubbles next to each other one was smaller (yolk sac) one was bigger (amniotic cavity)
I thought I was at the 7 week mark as they said I was around 5 weeks at my last scan but they said it's looking more like 6.5 weeks? So anxious.
I still have all my symptoms. Positive pregnancy test. Etc
Any one else ever been in this boat?

I have no experience but to me that sounds fairly standard? I mean if you think you’re 7 weeks and they put you at 6.5, that’s only like 3/4 days out?

Yet it was like they were still writing me off?
So bizarre and stressful 😢

Hi Op are they putting you at 5 weeks or 6.5? At 6.5 weeks you would expect to see a heartbeat. At 5 weeks it would be unlikely.
The cut off is 7 weeks, if they don’t see a heartbeat by then it is not good news unfortunately.
I had a somewhat similar experience, had a scan at 5&4 where they saw a questionable fetal pole, yolk sac and gestational sac. They told me I was measuring more like 5 weeks. Then got me to go back 8 days later and there was a heartbeat but I was measuring 5 day’s behind. I’ve had regular scans, but from 8 weeks everything caught up and I’m now 19 weeks and actually measuring a few day’s ahead.
So hopefully you are similar to me and just need a bit of time for baby to catch up, hope you get answers soon xx

They said around 6.5. But she said she could possibly see a HB but then said oh it's hard this is a hard scan because I don't know if it's your uterus moving?

That’s really strange. I had a scan at 9 weeks with my first with no heartbeat detected according to my notes and I was also a few days behind in growth and absolutely nothing was said/implied. I thought at the time that was normal!
In fact all they said rescan at 12 weeks where the growth actually jumped the opposite way and they measured bigger than I expected.
What I’m trying to say is that it’s really common and normal to be even as much as 1-2 weeks behind in growth according to what I read.
Re the heartbeat, easier said than done but try not to worry. From my experience, the first time they were able to find a heartbeat was at 12 weeks and I have heard it’s quite common too to not be able to see it quite as early as 6/7 weeks.
