Had you recently had sex?

If it was blood, brown blood is old blood.

Yep, I remember that feeling.

I would speak to your midwife if you are worried.

By bh do you mean braxton hicks??? They certainly shouldn't be painful at 24 weeks. (although, there is no should/shouldn'ts when it comes to pregnancy!)

As NAB said, brown blood is old blood, is there anyway you could have irritated your cervix?? or pulled anything?? bleeding can occur after you have overdone it, with heavy lifting or being overly active.

Have you had your blood pressure tested recently?? (blood could be at the worst, from placental abruption, but this can often be noticed from blood pressure changing)

Is this your first pregnancy? Some people do bleed during pregnancy, and often for no reason.

When are you next seeing your midwife?

Above all try not to worry, stress is not good for you or baby, easier said than done I know.

You've probably just overdone it.
As long as there is no further bleeding, pains that you wouldn't class as normal, oedema or experiecne any unusually severe headaches/dizziness/feeling faint, then I would wait until you see your midwife.
If, however you ahve any other syptoms that you are not used to, or the pains/bleeding gets worse, call her.
