When do pregnancy symptoms start

Hi everyone, I had a MMC in November and have started TTC this month. I have mild symptoms which could also be pms but I have been taking early pregnancy tests although my AF is due in 7 days. 2x tests had a line that almost looked like they wasn’t there to the point where I thought I was imagining it. I took more tests after and now there’s no line so maybe the previous ones were my imagination. My question is, is it still too early for definitive symptoms and for a BFP, Given that my AF is still 7 days away? Can pregnancy symptoms start nearer to your due date?
tia

Hey, didn't want to leave you hanging! I also had an MMC in November and am now pregnant again. Before my first proper period after my cycle I did feel pregnant again, but I wasn't, and I think your hormones can be a bit loopy for a while.

I'm sure some people will disagree with me, but generally speaking early pregnancy symptoms and PMS symptoms feel really similar because at the start they're caused by the same hormone rising - mainly progesterone. Progesterone can make you more emotional, give you aching breasts, make you constipated etc. hCG kicks in if you're pregnant and they think that's what can give you sickness if you're going to get it.

I've always felt like if you haven't got enough hCG in your system to show on a test you haven't got enough to give you real pregnancy symptoms, but I know people who 'just knew' and felt sick very early, so it's possible. You could be one of those people, but I wasn't either time I got pregnant.

For me, I was bloated from ovulation, and that still hasn't gone away (I'm 10 weeks), with sickness and other symptoms kicking in around 6 or 7 weeks.

Anyway, wishing you lots of luck. Hope you get your BFP soon, and reach out if you feel like you need a chat!

I never had any pregnancy symptoms and that was with twins 🤣

Mrsbg1990 · 16/03/2021 15:49

Thank you for your reply and congratulations! I definitely have mild symptoms whether it’s PMS or pregnancy I don’t know but I hope it’s the latter. I’m so desperate to get a BFP and I’ve become obsessive, testing way too early than I should. I don’t want to be disheartened either so I’m trying not to think of my symptoms as pregnant but I suppose I will have to wait for a missed period. Thank you again

8 weeks pregnant and felt absolutely fine until 6 weeks then the nausea hit me like a train!

TomatoSoup69 · 16/03/2021 16:40

@Mrsbg1990 I totally know how it feels to just want to be pregnant again. You might not have to wait until a missed period to get a positive test, but sometimes it's better to keep holding off testing if you can.

Sending you lots of luck that it happens soon! x

Mrsbg1990 · 16/03/2021 18:11

@Newtothis89 isn’t it crazy? Thanks for sharing your experience, it is so reassuring. As my AF approaches, I’m getting more and more upset that I don’t have real symptoms and I might not be pregnant. It’s a hard pill to swallow. Congratulations on your pregnancy x

@TomatoSoup69 I’ve lost all control. I’ve bought so many pregnancy tests and sometimes testing multiple times a day. I never thought I’d be like this. Thank you so much for your lovely wishes x

Hi lovely, I didn’t get a positive until 11dpo and even then it was really light, if you can hold off a couple more days it’d be better. I know it’s easier said than done!

Mrsbg1990 · 16/03/2021 22:40

Hey @Baubles2020 thank you for taking the time out to reply, it’s so lovely to hear real experiences. Ahh that makes me feel more optimistic as I’m 8 DPO. I guess I have a few more days to go. I will keep all of you lovely ladies updated with my results. Thank you and congratulations on your BFP! x

@Mrsbg1990 I didn't even realise how early you were - I didn't get my first very faint positive until 11dpo. I got a negative at 10dpo. Good luck again, there's still time xx

Mrsbg1990 · 17/03/2021 12:51

@TomatoSoup69 another BFN today. I’m going to try and hold off from testing until I’m closer to my AF. It’s getting me really down the thought of not being pregnant and the more I see negative lines. I’m testing way too early to be so disheartened. Thank you again it’s nice to hear of successful stories after mc

Nausea was my only real symptom (although I spent the whole ttc period feeling pregnant every month eheh) and it started when I was about 6 weeks. Shortly after that I started to go off meat - these were the only symptoms I had for the first few months.

Marghe87 · 20/03/2021 19:35

Ah just read about the bfp! Congrats!!

Mrsbg1990 · 21/03/2021 09:47

@Marghe87 thank you!! It’s crazy how every pregnancy can be so different to another. My pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage gave me really sore breasts and a lot of bloating. I guess you just never know until that BFP is there to confirm. Thank you again x
