I'm 23 weeks pregnant and since yesterday have been incredibly dizzy with a pounding headache. Whenever I move my head I feel really woozy and my vision goes funny. I had a similar episode about 3 weeks ago and after bloods being done 2 weeks ago was told my circulating iron is fine but my iron stores are low so was put on 200mg ferrous.

I have also checked my blood pressure which is perfect, been drinking lots of water and taking paracetamol but nothing is making me feel better. I also have a 9 month old so bending to play/pick him up etc is really hard!

Just rang antenatal assessment who said they'd only suggest iron deficiency or low blood pressure so to just 'get a GP appointment' this unfortunately isn't possible at my surgery, you have to ring on the day and cannot get through and I don't see what a GP could do over the phone anyway. I'm just a bit worried now and feeling really anxious something is wrong, would love someone to tell me it's just normal! I didn't have it with my other baby.

Hi,

I'm on baby number 3 (22.5 weeks) and have had spells of being horribly dizzy, even when lying down and terrible headaches.

If you know your blood pressure is okay and already addresssing the iron then I'm not sure there is much else you can do. And when I researched it, nothing suggested it would be anything serious on its own.

I do have quite low blood pressure - 98/55 (goes down at every appointment) and I read that salt can help manage the symptoms, so i stocked up on some crisps (which I was craving at the time). I now feel much better most of the time and am no longer craving crisps.

If my experience is anything to go by then it will come and go but I know it is horrible when its happening (I have a 2 & 3 yr old and DH works away so you have my full sympathy).

Hope you start to feel better soon.
