Hi just looking for advice? I’m feeling crappy about my weight.. I am around 11.5 stone and 5 foot 5” tall I’m 23 years old. To put it bluntly I disgust myself and I do have a belly it’s certainly not flat, my dream is to be a mum and my partner and I are going to start TTC however I’m getting myself so upset and worried that when 🤞🏼 I do fall pregnant you won’t see my bump for my fat... I see these skinny girls and their bellies start poking out but I already have a belly so when will people see it as a bump not just fat 😥 people’s experiences welcome

I piled on a lot of weight over a short period of time due to medical issues and my mum always got enormous, sort of all round bumps. I was worried that when I did get pregnant I would be huge but it not look like a pregnancy. Well, I did 5he same as my mum and swelled up and although I worried that I didn't look pregnant everyone definitely saw me as pregnant and a lot further on than I was (someone guessed 25 weeks at 15 weeks and by 20 weeks I was getting "not long now!")

I'm sorry you feel like this OP. It's a sad reflection on society that we are conditioned to be disgusted by our bodies if we feel different from the norm.

I am currently 41+1 with my first baby. Same height as you but considerably heavier (by about 3 stone - this was a shock to me at my booking in appointment, I was 10kg heavier than I thought I was!) hey - lockdown and that! To be honest I was in a really good headspace about my weight even though the scales gave me a shock. All my clothes fitted me lovely (size 14/16) and I was really working on not giving myself a hard time. The thought you're describing did cross my mind but honestly it was not an issue - I didn't 'show' until about 24 weeks but all my clothes still fitted. As soon as I did show it was pretty obviously pregnancy and not just weight gain. Trust me - you don't have anything to worry about. I have honestly never loved my body more - women are amazing!

Please try not to stress about this as TTC will give you so many other things to stress over.

I'm 5'6 and was 11.7 stone when I got pregnant. This is my first pregnancy and I definitely had a bump from around 18 weeks. I'm now 36 weeks pregnant and have a huge bump!

I have a friend who is skinny...she barely showed even when she was 9 months pregnant.

The only reason you might now show is not because of your existing weight, but because of how your bump grows. In the nicest way, you really are overthinking it! I suggest you just enjoy the experience and not worry about things you can't control (i.e the way your bump grows).

I was heavier than you at the same height and started showing from 18 weeks.

I had a belly before but you could tell it was a baby bump.

Please don't worry! Who cares about bump size, as long as baby is cooking in there nicely!
