Not dilated at sweep

Midwife attempted a stretch and sweep - she said i was dilated at the bottom of the cervix but not at the top so couldn’t put her finger all the way to the membranes. Does this mean anything can progress or was it just a wasted effort?

I never dialated one nanometre with DC1, not even after 12 hours of induction.

Went to emergency c-section (sorry).

Turns out he never descended (massive head would not fit into the ring of my tiny pelvis) and apparently the head has to be in contact with the cervix to trigger dialation, thus it never happened for me.

DC2 was even bigger at his 36 week scan than DC1 was at birth, so we just cut straight to c-section, since there was really no point in trying for a v-bac based upon the first experience.
