Hello
I have been told to stop taking Cyclogest at 8 weeks but feel this is my safety net!! Has anyone stopped taking it this early and all has been fine? Thanks in advance!Smile

I was told to take it for the first 12 weeks, and it can be taken until 16 weeks. I’m scared to come off it even then!

Why have they told you to come off it at 8 weeks? Seems unusual to me xx

Agree 8 weeks is unusual to stop. I would want to take it until at least 12 weeks and I think I was actually on it for a bit longer than that. I would ask about it. Good luck.

I came off it at 8 weeks and was also nervous. I'm now 22 weeks and had no issues when I stopped. Good luck xx

Thanks so much all. I can't remember exactly (I think it went in one ear and out the other) but something along the lines of there not being much evidence to suggest that you need them for any longer. Most threads I have read, everyone has said they have taken up until 12 weeks but my clinic have advised that they only recommend up to 8 weeks now. I might chat to them tomorrow and see if it is possible to take them for longer by choice xx

It’s probably because it’s so expensive! But if I were you I would push to continue to 12 weeks.

I got my first batch of cyclogest privately and it cost £114 for two weeks worth! Luckily I got the rest on the nhs xx
