How did your labour start? I am 40 + 2

Hi :)
I am 40 weeks 2 days pregnant
I woke up at around 5am with very intense what feels like period cramps and back pain.
Could this be contractions? My first baby so I don’t know how they feel. It’s a very intense pain, lasting 20-50 seconds, in between every 6-10 minutes.

@Amjk yes sounds like the start! Exciting ☺️. Keep timing them. Hopefully they keep coming regularly. If you need some reassurance or advice give the hospital a call. Good luck 😍

Eat and rest. And then repeat. Could well be the start, but don't expect it to be quick (though of course it's entirely possible it could be).

Yes I spoke to the hospital they said it sounds like early labour.. once they’re 5 minutes apart it’s time to go in..

Just want to say thank you again, went in at 8pm, they were going to send me home but due to high blood pressure they kept me in. Gave birth this morning at 8am 😊

Yes, mine was like that too when I was 41 + 10. I started getting what I described as quite bag period pains during the afternoon, had a show at about midnight and then labour started properly.
