Daily brown discharge - normal?

I’m seeing a small amount of brown discharge every day for the last 4 weeks (8 weeks pregnant now). I’ve already had an early ultrasound and bloodwork that showed everything looked normal, but can’t help worrying. I’ve had three miscarriages, all after having my now 3.5 year old son, so trying to stay positive. Has anyone else experience regular brown discharge like this?

For me I had brown from 6 weeks and despite an early scan which showed a hb, baby was measuring behind and I mc at 9 weeks. The brown turned to bright red which is when I started miscarrying. It may have just been a coincidence with the brown discharge but I haven’t had any in my current pregnancy (I’m 9 weeks).

However - lots of women have brown discharge right through and it’s fine. It could also be an irritated cervix - do you tend to get it after sex? I often do and that’s due to the cervix softening. Now I don’t let my husband put it all the way in! (Sorry TMI)

Generally you don’t need to worry unless it turns red, and even then it could still be fine xx

I don’t think you need to worry I think it’s fairly common in the early stages of pregnancy. To rest your mind though I would speak to gp or midwife to see if they can get you in for another early scan. There’s nothing worse than worrying. Failing that a private one.. they aren’t too expensive (mine was £25). Lots of blood rushes to the area in the first trimester and I’m sure brown blood which is old blood suggests nothing to be concerned about..
I had brown blood and also heavy red bleeding in my last pregnancy and it resulted in my healthy bouncing baby boy so blood isn’t always worst case scenario.
Look after yourself as best you can. I’m 10 weeks at the moment so not too far in front! SmileSmileGrin

Thank you all, I’ll try not to worry unless it turns red. I have another scan in 3 weeks 🤞🏼

Hi, I am 9 weeks pregnant and this has been happening to me for the past 3 weeks. I'm glad to have found someone else going through the same thing!. I had an early scan at 6 weeks with the EPU and everything was normal and could see a little heartbeat. Then after that was when this brown discharge started. I have a scan in 3 weeks too so I'm hoping everything is okay. I did speak to the EPU on a couple of occasions and they told me not to worry unless it turns into heavy red blood with clots or cramps. So fingers crossed for us both that everything is fine!

I am hoping it’s just an issue with having a sensitive cervix. Husband and I have not been having sex just in case. It doesn’t seem to be getting heavier or darker.
