16 week gender scan with high BMI?

Hey everyone I’ve got an early gender scan booked for the 21st but am currently 16 stone with a bmi of 40. Was wondering is anyone else was a similar weight and carried it around the middle, did you have a problem with finding out early? I managed to have a normal scan for my week 12 but it was a little blurry. Surely with the baby being bigger it’ll be a little easier?

My BMI was 32 at booking and my private scan at 16+4wk was very clear. She gave us a clear view between the legs and we got some lovely pictures. My dating scan pics were blury as she was having a good wriggle then.
I carry a lot of my fat round my middle.

@Chelyanne Thankyou it’s reassuring to hear other people’s experiences it’s hard not to get your hopes up when it’s so exciting just hope it goes as planned 🥰🤞🏻 X

Hi op.. my BMI is 44 and had my gender scan on Monday at 17 & 4. It was clear that it was a boy :)

My bmi was 40 when we had our private gender scan it was so much clearer than the nhs ones. No problem at all finding the gender and it was such a pleasant experience compared to my nhs 12 week one where they said they couldn’t date me due to my high bmi and Tummy fat and as a result our photo was rubbish and I felt awful the private one totally made up for all of that.

My BMI was 37 when we had a 16 week gender scan. She said straight away it was a boy and she was right! Lookinh at the screen during the scan it really clear but my photos from it are not that great x

My BMI is 38 and I have a gender scan at 16+1 which they could see clearly. Pics probably a bit more blurry than other people’s but no problem seeing the gender or health of the baby.
