Hey everyone. Im having a really bad day. Me and DH have been ttc since august 2018. Had a mc november 2020 at 5.5 weeks. Currently seeking fertility tests, so far all have come back fine which is great. Last test is a hsg which will have next month. I just found out my friend who is 21 is pregnant. Im going to be 29 this year and i cant help but feel so jelous, and i hate that i feel this way. Why cant i get pregnant?!?!? How long does it take after a mc? I wish i started ttc much earlier now Sad

It's normal to find it hard to take others pregnancy news when you are ttc and having trouble. After my last mc I had to snooze pregnant friends on FB as I was really struggling with how I felt I'd failed again. It us tough but keep trying and hopefully you will be the one sharing happy news soon.

After our 1st mc I didn't feel ready to try for well over a year, then we waited until after we got married. Conceived within a couple of months but then mc again, hubby was deployed but got home for 2.5wk and we conceived our son.
I fell pregnant after 4.5mth after him unplanned but mc again, got bfp with our 3rd just 6 weeks later. The midwife team actually missed me off their list for her as they thought my referral was a duplicate.
Current follows 2 mc too, 17+3wk atm.

@chelyanne thanks for sharing your story. You sound like a very strong women with what you 've been through! I hope yoy have a healthy pregnancy =) we've been trying since my mc so i suppose 3 cycles since. DH has stopped smoking now so i suppose that will help! I start my new job in a few weeks so atleast i can focus on that.

It's normal to feel negative emotions when you want a baby and it takes longer after a loss and someone else becomes pregnant. Fertility is unfair in that sense. I have experienced this myself.
It took us 7 months after the MC to conceive, when initially it took 10 days after i stopped the pill.
It is frustrating. But it will happen... lots of lovely supportive women and groups on the Conception board. I would recommend!!

Nice username btw @SunnySide1992 😉

SunnySide1992 · 12/03/2021 12:42

@sunnysideup2020 thanks for responding =) i will look on that board thankyou. I think its just so hard as it took 2 years for us to conceive so now am worried it will be another 2 years

It's possible to conceive immediately after a miscarriage. I had one conception within 2 cycles and the next one took 15 months. Then after having DS2 it took over 2 years to conceive again.

My DH has a balanced translocation. Is there a history of recurrent miscarriage and/or infertility in either of your families?

SenoraSurf · 12/03/2021 12:50

My cycles seem to regulate back to 28 days after my miscarriage. I caught on the second cycle after mc. Good luck op.

SunnySide1992 · 12/03/2021 12:57

Hi @bertiebotts! My mum and grandma both had 1 mc, apart from that no fertility issues on both our families.

@SenoraSurf thanks for sharing! Mine seem more regulated since after mc!

Does anyone think it took a year after i stopped the pill for my body to regulate? My cycles were all over the place and it took a year for me to get pms.

Well, if you don't get any answers from the testing, it might be worth asking about having karyotyping done. They won't do it on the NHS in a lot of areas unless you've actually had a miscarriage analysed genetically but this is not really possible to do if you have them early. It costs about £400 to have it done privately IIRC.

SunnySide1992 · 12/03/2021 13:22

@BertieBotts okay thankyou! I have no idea what that is but will look into it =)

I was pregnant with my DC1 two months after coming off the pill. Had an MMC when they were 2, then conceived DC2 two months later (I intentionally waited a month to let myself have a regular period so I could follow my cycles).
Hope this helps you feel a bit more positive, it does happen and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you get some good news soon Flowers

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I'm not going to lie, one of the worst things I heard was that you're more fertile after a mc. You aren't. It's shit but gives you false hope.

I fell pregnant with my dd 8 months after my mmc and it took me 8 months to conceive in my first pregnancy with the baby I lost. My dd is now 6 months old and chilling on the play mat.

BertieBotts · 12/03/2021 19:34

OMG yes that myth really annoyed the crap out of me as well - it's just bollocks.

What I will say is that once you have your baby in your arms all the waiting seems to melt away and not matter any more.

Hi, I know this isn’t relatable but don’t really know how to use mumsnet and need advice. Last month (November 21) I tested postive. Miss carried 4 days after 4 positives. Done a test after and was negative. Was due on 2 days ago and now have had 3 postive pregnancy tests, faint like but noticeable, I finished bleeding on the 10th of November and ovulated 17 18th were the main days. Could this mean I’m actually pregnant or? I’ve been booked in the epau for a scan tomorrow but I’m so worried I don’t know what’s going on!

After my miscarriage I got pregnant 2 cycles after. I found basal body temperature to be really helpful, as well as using ovulation test kits, the digital one.

Hotcrossbunsinbed · 30/11/2021 22:31

I am not sure they sometimes say that you can still have hcg in your system after miscarriage. But it’s great you are having a scan to confirm what is going on. Good luck. I am sorry you are going through that.

Elxxsw · 01/12/2021 14:49

Well after my misscarriage I had two negative clear blue, I went today they think I might have conceived again but super fast and really early. Nothing visible on the scan so had my bloods done to confirm hcg levels. It’s super confusing. Thank you x

Rachae · 01/12/2021 18:26

Hey, I had a MC last month and I ovulated again straight away on day 15, got pregnant again. No period in between. It's possible! I've just had a 6 week scan and saw a heartbeat... It's measuring a day behind but hoping that's ok/ down to me ovulating a day later xx

Elxxsw · 01/12/2021 18:49

I really didn’t it was possible, I’m so surprised my hg levels are quite high I can remember what she said they was, but got to go back on Friday. Thank you! Hope you are well!! Xxx
