Slow-rising Hcg (from 900 to 1400 in 48 hours)

Hello
After a double embryo transfer, we were delighted to get a BFP. I have been testing all week and positives were staying strong but, because of previous losses, i got bloods done at GP to ensure hcg was doubling. Initial level was quite high at 913 on the equivalent of 18dpo but it only rose to 1413 (55%) in 48 hours. I think it's game over but my biggest fear now is ectopic. Anyone have experience of slow rising hcg at these higher levels? TIA

I tested every couple of days for a week or so early on and I noticed it would go up in uneven jumps rather than have a neat doubling rate. The higher your hcg is the slower it doubles on average, too (normal is 3-4 days when it's over 1200). It's good to be calm and accepting of either result as you seem to be, but don't discount this pregnancy just yet. Good luck!

I had my bloods taken by the EPU back in January. 1st blood test the level was 1400 and my 2nd was 2300 so they didn't double but rose by around 60%.

I'm now 14weeks and everything looks like it's progressing as it should!

I read quite a lot about doubling hcg etc at the time which freaked me out but it can take 3 days when you get to a certain level.

Hi @Rumples, thanks for your response and congrats on your pregnancy! Do you mind me asking what stage you were at when you got those readings?

Thanks @anniebu, i haven't discounted it but in previous losses, slow rising hcg was an early warning sign so i am hopeful but not optimistic tbh. Thanks for you response

@Galgal15 first lot were at 4+4 and then the 2nd lot were 2 days later at 4+6.

Hope you get a positive outcome too!

Thank you @Rumples! Good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy.
