Conceiving after Chemical

Hi everyone,

Hope someone can put my mind to rest.

I have just went through a chemical pregnancy.
My husband and I are trying for a baby , have been for a few months and I early tested a few days before my period and got a faint line. I was so so excited! Took tests every day until Tuesday and they were all positive but my clear blue digital kept saying not pregnant to my surprise. I put this down to maybe HCG not being high enough.
On the Saturday I spotted for a few hours and it went away. A few days went by and I started bleeding and it got heavier and I woke up this morning to what looks like my period. Doc says it was probably a very early miscarriage which is heartbreaking, but it happens :(

2 questions: do you trust blue dye tests? Or pink? I’m worried the CB tests I bought were just crap and didn’t give an accurate result.

2/ we are both emotionally and physically ready to try again this month to conceive. Has anyone had a successful pregnancy soon after a chemical? We want children so so badly and my cycles are like clockwork (every 28 days). We obv don’t wanna go through this again but it’s something that can’t be helped but I would love to know some of your stories and if anyone fell pregnant the month after a chemical? X x

Blue dyes are less sensitive.
I have always used them though as I have never tested before my period is due.

And in response to your other question, having a chemical pregnancy or a miscarriage doesn't make you any more likely to have another

Hey lovely, so sorry to hear this. It’s so hard after seeing those 2 lines 😢

I had a missed miscarriage in august at our 12 week scan. We then tried again next cycle after a negative test and I think we had a chemical as the tests went from positive to really faint and my period arrived at day 28. We then got pregnant the following cycle and are due in June.

I’ve used first response tests mostly as feel these are really reliable.

Good luck to you both I hope next cycle is your lucky one 🤞🏼

I had a mc at 9+3 in July, took a bit if time off ttc. I had a chemical in November, 2 faint positives then a negative and AF was a week later than due. Got BFP in December (asda cheap pink dye), followed by 2 clearblue digital tests 1 then 2 week after. Currently 17+1wk with a little girl.

I prefer the pink dye tests for earlier testing, blue are better when af is quite late for me.

If you're ready then go for it, good luck.
Cindolences on your CP, they are extremely frustrating to go through. With our eldest tests were not as sensitive so I didn't get bfp until I was 6wk but now you can get them days before af is due.

Sorry to hear that! I conceived again the month after a chemical. I hope all goes well for you!

Hi sorry you've had a CP. I had one in dec 2019, another early Feb 2020, got pregnant in march and now have a beautiful 13 week old sitting here with me.

Stay positive. I figured the pregnancies were just unviable eggs that were fertilised. Keep trying, not all your eggs are perfect so it can take some months for sth to stick.

Good luck!

I had a chemical 14/10 started trying straight away again and got a positive first response test 20/11, think the clearblue digital few days after that. Now 19 weeks. Best of luck xx

Thank you so much! So sorry to hear about your MC and CP! I’m so happy you are due in June. Super exciting!

I had a chemical pregnancy, followed by a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks, followed by three healthy babies. I think I got pregnant two months after the chemical pregnancy from what I remember and a couple of months again after the missed miscarriage. I don’t remember exactly. I don’t think the missed miscarriage was anything to do with conceiving quickly after the chemical pregnancy. Just badly left. Sending lots of good vibes your way x

I’ll keep everything crossed for you.

We did the sperm meets egg plan which I think did the trick. Knackering but worth it 🙂 also get some ovulation kits if you do this plan.

All the best x
