Maternity leggings

Hey guys

I'm getting so frustrated at the shops being closed, i usually would just go and see what looks/feels best.
I need maternity leggings. I'm a size 6, 5"1 .

If I size up normal clothes the leggings and joggers are too loose on my legs / height is wrong.

I want some leggings that are comfy for my growing bump but still fit everywhere else. And of course leggings that aren't see through!

Asos leggings all seem to have bad reviews saying they're see through. Does anyone have some suggestions?

Thanks :)
J

Loveleggings - best I've found and not see through! I had them maternity then bought a normal pair after.

ASOS maternity leggings. I still wear them a year PP! Grin

I find h and m comfiest and not too see through (but I never wear them without my bum covered by a top/dress). But they do two different styles - get the ones sold singly (not the double pack) as these are better quality and have a nice soft bump panel and keep their elasticity well too.

Another vote for Love Leggings. I tried a few different brands and these were definitely the best

Seraphine are quite expensive but good, I have a friend around your size/height who is a yoga teacher and she recommends them.
I also like the Uniqlo ones but they don't last very well.

I personally hated love leggings. I like slimline supportive kind of leggings and love leggings made me look twice the size I am, showed all lumps and bumps and had a thin waistband that dug in. Only good things I could say are that their petite length is good for anyone 5'1 to 5'4 and they definitely aren't see-through.

I am yet to find decent ones too, asos was going to be my next try but not sure if they will be see through. I also have skinny legs and very thin ankles so need ones that don't sag and bunch around them.

The best ones I’ve found aren’t even maternity leggings . They’re by a brand called Collusion which are sold on asos and are only £6. If you search high waisted collusion leggings they’ll come up . They aren’t see through and They do petite too x

I like h&m maternity leggings, also their "maternity treggings". Still very soft and comfy but not see through at all. Because I couldn't go to the shops I just ordered about 6 different things and sent back what wasn't right.

I've got some maternity jeans from m&s, I do not recommend those, very uncomfortable.

George at Asda, sometimes I wear mine even now... DD is 2.

Sixtyorforty · 10/03/2021 16:22

I loved the ASoS ones

silverstrawberry · 10/03/2021 16:36

H&M for all maternity clothes I reckon

Love leggings

Another vote for love leggings. Size up if you want to wear in 3rd trimester. They are not at all see through and come up a little on the short side (which is awful for me but probably what you're after!) They do have a narrow waistband but I still find them comfy and they shape nicely around my bump.

I love my seraphine leggings (the bamboo ones) - comfiest thing I own - but I am 5ft9 and they are bordering on being too long. Same with their jeggings and jumpers. Gold mine for me but not if you're 5ft1!

A few people always recommend non-maternity leggings. I bought a couple of pairs early on and they were fine until about 28 weeks - now they just don't shape around the bump properly and aren't comfy at all. Depends how long you want to wear them for (and how big your bump is!)

I think I've found my holy grail of maternity leggings!

Asos 4505 maternity icon legging in cotton touch. 16 quid.

Beware they will only be good for petite people 5'4 and under with very slim legs and skinny ankles as they are quite tight in that area, but I like that. They're a good cross between compressive style lycra type workout leggings and everyday leggings that you can wear with boots etc. Supportive without digging in, and not see through. My only slight concern is that they may become too tight for the last few weeks of pregnancy but as I'm due mid-July I'll probably be in loose dresses by then. Hope this helps with anyone who had similar struggles to me.
